Each day is designed to support both body and mind through morning yoga, hands-on culinary sessions, wellness talks, and peaceful moments in the beautiful surroundings of Montenegro. These cooking sessions invite you to see food as more than fuel. With Dr. Vesna Lemm as your guide, you’ll explore vegan cuisine as a mindful practice that can support both physical vitality and inner balance. Across the week, you’ll learn how to prepare cleansing plant-based dishes and gain practical knowledge you can bring into your everyday life.

YOGA & MOVEMENT

Yoga is one of Dr. Lemm’s core tools for returning the body to a restful, parasympathetic state. Over time, this practice can help that sense of calm extend beyond the mat. At Mahakala, yoga is offered as an accessible path for every body and every level of experience. The focus is not on complexity, but on the union of mind, body, and spirit, supported by both traditional yoga practices and modern scientific and neuroscience-based understanding.

THE PLACE "Mahakala Retreats"

Mahakala Center is set in the seaside village of Buljarica, Montenegro, between the mountains and the Adriatic Sea. Surrounded by earth, air, sun, and water, the location offers a peaceful environment for connection and renewal. The center sits on a steep hill among local homes, about a 15-minute walk from the beach, and features a shala with mountain and sea views, a plant-based kitchen, rooftop relaxation area with jacuzzi, outdoor bathtubs, outdoor lounge, and spa. Sustainability is central to Mahakala’s philosophy, with a no-waste kitchen, local organic farm sourcing, and mountain spring water.

OUR PLANT BASED CUISINE

The food at Mahakala is fresh, wholesome, homemade, and nourishing. Each buffet includes a variety of dishes, from freshly baked bread to salads prepared with homegrown vegetables. All meals are made in the home kitchen by local Montenegrin women. There are no complicated detox programs here, only nutritious food prepared with care. The menu is curated by Dr. Vesna Lemm to support a balanced vegan diet, with two daily homemade vegan buffets served at 9:30 and 17:00. Seasonal fruits, spring water, and herbal teas are available during the day, and coffee can be purchased at the coffee shop.
