Bike in Nothern Montenegro

Set off on a memorable cycling journey through the northern landscapes of Montenegro, where every day brings a new mix of mountain scenery, fresh air, and authentic local charm. This biking tour is designed for travelers who want to experience the country in an active way while discovering green forests, water springs, high plateaus, lakes, windmills, and traditional regional specialties along the route.

During the trip, you will explore some of the most striking mountain areas in the north, including Kolašin, known as an air spa; Žabljak, the highest town in the Balkans; Durmitor Mountain; and the National Park often described as “a mountain full of water.” Each stage reveals a different side of Montenegro, making this a truly rewarding cycling holiday.

Itinerary:

• Day 1: Arrival at the airport in Podgorica or Tivat, or at the port in Kotor, Bar, or Tivat. Transfer to Kolašin, check-in at the hotel or apartment, free time, and overnight in Kolašin.
• Day 2: Cycling route from Kolašin to Donje Lipovo and Gornje Lipovo, continuing through Lipovo serpentine, Vratlo bend, Sinjajevina plateau, Pašino field, and ending at Zminičko Lake. Dinner and overnight at a local household near the lake.
• Day 3: Bike from Zminičko Lake to Njegovuđa village and then to Žabljak. Overnight in the Žabljak municipality.
• Day 4: Durmitor ring cycling tour: Žabljak, Momčilov grad, Štuoc, Mala Crna Gora, Sušica, Nedajno, Trsa, Prutaš, Sedlo, Savin kuk, and back to Žabljak. Overnight in Žabljak.
• Day 5: Approx. 67 km ride from Žabljak toward Šavnik, descending along the highway and passing the Šavnik serpentines. The route continues through the larger villages of Kruševica and Milojevići to Bijela, then on to the well-known ski center Vučje.
• Day 6: Ride from Vučje to Kapetanovo Lake, then via Velje Duboko and Međuriječje. End of the biking tour. Transfer by vehicle to Podgorica and overnight in Podgorica.
• Day 7: Free time, followed by transfer to the airport in Podgorica or Tivat, or to the port in Kotor, Bar, or Tivat.
