“You teach me to be real, grounded, and to live a gracious, awakened, and blessed life every day. My whole life changed when I started yoga years ago, and it’s all because of you and what you inspired in me and others.” — Meena, yoga student, Everett, WA
I have been teaching Sacred Slow Flow yoga, meditation, and healing arts since 2000. My deepest training has come from life itself, as I have worked through depression, mid-life changes, and many other challenges that life has generously brought my way. I teach with as much joy, humor, kindness, and grace as God allows, even if imperfectly.
I am a 500-hour certified yoga teacher in the Viniyoga tradition. My classes are safe, gentle, body-friendly, grounded, breath-connected, and meditative — a traditional hatha yoga practice that is truly meditation in motion. The intention is to renew the mind, purify the heart, heal the body and emotions, and deepen our Divine bond. Classes are very affordable, generally $10–15 per class.
Sacred: We aim to purify the body-temple and deepen our connection with Source-God. We do not idolize the body, or anything else.
Slow: Because we often move too quickly in today’s world, outrunning Spirit and our pain, we slow down to create space for grace.
Flow: We move with the breath so we do not stagnate or become stuck. As noted, we move slowly, but we do flow, with mindful pauses along the way.
I also teach breathwork (pranayama) and meditation, and I work to weave in the many aspects of emotional healing and balance I have learned. My meditation style is rooted in mindfulness, with emphasis on breath awareness, heart opening, body sensations, emotional clearing, mind renewal, and connection on every level — body, breath, emotions, earth, and Spirit. I also teach prayer and ways to deepen your Divine connection, whether you call it Source or God.
I have led more than 125 wellness retreats around the world since 2000. These journeys offer a profound opportunity to connect deeply with one another, as well as with your true self, purpose, and desires. Our passion is helping you be you. They bring together inner discovery and outer enjoyment, including food and hiking. Please see the retreats link. Note: My beloved wife, mentioned below, has been leading retreats with me since 2015.
