Description

Celebrate the goddess energy of Lesvos, a beautiful island setting for rest, renewal, and connection.

Why Greece?

Greece has long been a beloved destination, and recent challenges have created unexpected opportunities. That means exceptional accommodations at very good prices, while also supporting the island’s economy and a family-run business at a time when it matters most. Lesvos is also known for the Pope’s 2015 visit, when he brought words of hope and solidarity to refugees staying on the island. The area where we will stay is beautiful and free of refugee issues.

Accommodations for our Greece Retreat

We will spend 7 nights / days at the lovely Milelja Yoga Retreat Center on Lesvos. The property offers a sacred round yoga den, a beautiful swimming pool, peaceful grounds for wandering, a sauna, and wonderful meals. Retreat groups return year after year, which made this space especially difficult to reserve — a strong sign of its quality. It is a 10-minute walk to the beach and a 15-minute walk to the charming town of Molyvos, known for its Greek atmosphere and excellent food.

Sacred space for our Yoga and Meditation

Milelja provides a special setting for daily yoga, meditation, and other healing activities. There is also a pleasant pool area and garden space for relaxing and strolling, with views toward Molyvos and the beach in the distance.

Retreat Itinerary

Enjoy up to twice-daily yoga and meditation, along with playshops focused on healing, growth, and empowerment. The program also includes kirtan, hiking, swimming, and possible side trips.

Most Meals Included

Two-thirds of the meals are included: daily buffet breakfasts, four lunches, and three dinners. One meal each day is left open so you can explore on your own or with the group and sample the wonderful restaurants in Molyvos.

Travel Details

Most participants will fly into Athens, where you may choose to spend a night or two on your own. From there, you can travel to Lesvos by ferry or fly into Mytilini. The flight is about $100 each way, or $200 round trip. Please plan to arrive on Lesvos by June 3 at the latest, as that night is included and the retreat begins that day. You may depart by flight or ferry on or after June 10.

Pricing

$1,495 per person for double or triple occupancy. More spacious deluxe accommodations are also available for an additional $100 per person, again for double or triple occupancy.

OPTIONAL SIDE TRIPS: BUS, BOAT & WALKING TOURS

Note: 30 Euros is currently about 35 US dollars, so most of these tours are approximately $35 US.

Lesvos West

This excursion highlights the natural beauty of the rocky western side of the island. The route includes the 15th-century monastery of Lemonos and its museum of old icons, a stop in the traditional village of Vatousa for coffee and a walk through the streets, and the famous Petrified Forest, where volcanic activity turned trees to stone. The day ends in Skala Eresos, a former fishing village with a sandy beach, small shops, restaurants, and coffee bars. Guided in English.

Every Thursday

Price: €37.00 for adults, €19.00 for children 7-12, and free for ages 0-6.

Traditional Village

Spend an evening in the picturesque village of Sikaminia and its sister village, Skala Sikaminia. Wander the narrow cobbled streets, enjoy an ice coffee “frape” at a traditional kafenion, taste a handmade almond-flavored wedding sweet in the village square, and visit the local museum. The evening continues in Skala Sikaminia, one of the island’s most beautiful harbors, where you can watch the sunset over the Aegean Sea and the Turkish coast, visit the tiny Mermaid Virgin church, and enjoy ouzo or wine with a meze supper at a quayside tavern.

Every Wednesday

PRICE: 25.00€ adults / 12.50€ children

Hiking tour North Lesvos

Travel by taxi or minibus to Petri, the starting point for a 5-6 km walk to Vafios. Although the distance is modest, the route takes about 2 to 2.5 hours because there is so much to see: the ruins of old watermills in the Ligonas valley, sweeping views of the north and west coasts, and the small church of Saint Dimitris. The path includes quiet dirt roads and a short climb along a goat path, rising from about 220m to 325m. Dinner in Vafios is traditional and not included, with sunset views over Molyvos before returning by taxi or minibus.

Every Tuesday

PRICE: 25€ for adults / children 0-12 for free

Lesvos South

This southern route begins at the Olive Oil Museum in Agia Paraskevi, located in the old communal olive oil press and focused on the industrial development of olive oil production in Greece. The journey continues to Agiassos, a beautiful mountain village at the foot of Mount Olymp, with cobbled streets, ceramics, woodworks, and the pilgrim church of Virgin Mary. After time to relax and lunch at the Bay of Gera, the tour visits Moni Limonos, one of the island’s most important and interesting monasteries, with a small museum, churches, and chapels.

Every Thursday

PRICE: 32,00€ adults / 16,00€ children
