Ready for a little summer time for both inner and outer renewal?
Fox Creek Falls is a nourishing retreat center set on 88 acres of lush forest, with 15 small waterfalls, dedicated spaces for yoga and meditation, a meeting room, a well-equipped kitchen, and a hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge.
The lodge includes two buildings: a main lodge and a separate building with one room available. Altogether, there are 6 comfortable bedrooms, plus a camping option, along with trails for walking, hiking, and relaxing.
Theme: Healing the nervous system
Liz and I (Roy) have been exploring nervous system healing in depth. After 25 years of work in this field, it feels like the missing link. Healing is difficult when we remain caught in sympathetic nervous system stress, anxiety, and trauma.
We will share simple but powerful tools to help balance and retrain the brain, tone the vagus nerve, access emotional and somatic intelligence, and connect with our true self and core intelligence. From there, we can move toward our purpose and offer our gifts in service.
The price includes 3 nights of accommodations (see options below), all meals, yoga, meditation and wellness classes, guided hikes and walks, sauna, and hot tub. Additional options will also be available, including brain training with NeurOptimal technology, energy field readings, coaching, and Rapid Release massage for clearing deep blocks and scar tissue.
Roy Holman and Liz Gross will teach the yoga, lead the hikes and other activities, and prepare the delicious, healthy, mostly organic meals. Roy has led more than 120 retreats in Washington, Mexico, Guatemala, Hawaii, Bali, and Costa Rica. Liz joined Roy in 2014 and has co-led about 75 of these retreats. Roy is trained at the 500-hour level in Viniyoga, a breath-connected, body-friendly, heart-centered, meditative flow yoga. This retreat is suitable for all yoga and hiking levels. Liz Gross is a yoga teacher and gifted vibrational energy healer. Both are excellent cooks who create nourishing, tasty meals.
All meals are included, three per day. Breakfast is healthy and mostly organic, usually offered as a generous buffet with oatmeal, eggs, granola, cereal, nuts, seeds, nut butters, breads, a variety of dairy and non-dairy milks, fresh fruit, flax, hemp, coffee, tea, and more. We will do our best to meet all dietary needs, and lunches and home-cooked dinners are also provided.
Please Note: We are happy to prepare meals that suit your needs and allergies. Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian guests are all welcome.
Our host home, Fox Creek Falls, is about 1.5 hours north of Seattle, outside Sedro Woolley, surrounded by forests and nature.
Dogs: We do not normally allow dogs at our retreats, but Fox Creek Falls is currently deciding its dog policy. It may be possible to bring a well-behaved, quiet dog for an additional $50. Please talk to us about this as we get closer.
Main Floor, Lodge:
$650 per person, bring your own gear, or we can rent gear for a small fee.
You can fly into Seatac, which is 2+ hours from the retreat, or Bellingham, which is about one hour away. We are also happy to help arrange carpooling. A packing list will be sent closer to the date.
We ask that you trust our experience and guidance. Hiking pace and distance vary for everyone, and we will do our best to make sure each person gets what they need. There will be trails on site to explore, including shorter silent meditation walks. One day will feature a longer hike, either a strenuous 4-mile round trip up Sauk Mountain with a 1200-foot gain and views, or a 3-mile round trip, fairly flat loop at Rockport State Park with beautiful old-growth trees. Other options may also be available.
Note: All classes, hikes, and activities are optional. Rest whenever you need to rest.
We usually begin the day with a half-hour meditation, followed by a yoga class and breakfast. At some point, we will also offer a healing workshop, one longer hike, shorter walks, a sound bath, hot tub time, sauna, extra healing options, and other activities. We expect a maximum of about 12-15 participants.
For those traveling from afar, we strongly recommend trip and travel insurance. In rare cases, we may need to cancel trips, and we cannot be responsible for lost airfare or other fees. Given the uncertainty and changes in the world lately, travel cancellation insurance is also a wise choice.
A $500 deposit is requested, with the balance due 30 days before the trip. The deposit is generally nonrefundable. Three-quarters of the later payment may be refunded if you cancel more than 30 days before the trip; half may be refunded if you cancel 15-30 days before the trip, depending on the retreat center’s refund policy; and there is no refund under 15 days before the trip unless some money can be recovered from hotels and the retreat center.
