Taiji Quan is an ancient internal boxing style, said to have been discovered by Zhang San Feng, a legendary Daoist monk. According to the story, he observed — or perhaps imagined — a crane and a snake in a fierce battle, and from that vision came the movement principles that later shaped this practice, along with a deeper understanding of the philosophy of Yin and Yang.
Yin and Yang are two complementary polarities that work together in life. Through Taiji Quan, we learn to move between them with greater ease and to understand their natural relationship. As awareness grows, practice develops sensitivity, internal strength, a sharper sense of an opponent, and the ability to adapt smoothly.
Taiji Quan practice also supports focus in the present moment.
Among its many benefits, this class can improve important areas of life, including adaptability, much like water. It asks for dedication and humility, since going deeper into this method takes time.
