Yoga Therapy & Mindfulness at Yoga Academy You are the Buddha
Build up gently, practice together, and notice the difference in your daily life. No intake required, and suitable for beginners.
Thinking about joining? Not sure whether this is right for you? Just come along once. There is no obligation at all.
More and more people around me are doing too much, moving too fast, and eventually hitting a wall. Stress, fatigue, and chronic symptoms are no longer unusual.
At the same time, I see that yoga often feels out of reach. Not because people do not want it, but because the common image of yoga — flexible, energetic, Instagram-perfect — can make them feel excluded before they even walk in.
That is exactly why I work with yoga therapy. Not only for those who are struggling with illness or symptoms, but also for anyone who simply feels that body and mind need a slower pace.
Marlies Tobias · E-RYT 500 · MSc Yoga Therapy (VaYU) · 150+ participants in the Long COVID program · Speaker SYR2023 Kripalu (USA)
Yoga Therapy: Restore is for anyone who needs less stimulation, more breath, and a calmer nervous system. Whether you are recovering from symptoms or simply feel ready to slow down, you are welcome here. You do not need to be able to do anything in advance. Pausing is part of the practice.

Academic yoga therapy background. Marlies is an MSc Yoga Therapy student at Vivekananda Yoga University (VaYU). She was the first person in Europe following this master's programme at IAYT level.
Science and tradition. An evidence informed approach using the bio psycho social model and polyvagal principles, connected to the koshas, gunas, and vayus in clear, accessible language.
A therapeutic learning line. Classes with purpose, dosage, regressions, stimulus management, and energy pacing to support recovery.
Experience and recognition. E RYT 500 and YACEP, mindfulness trainer, breath coach, member of VYN and VMBN, international presentations, and Long COVID expertise.
Safe and realistic. No medical claims, but a step by step build up, freedom of choice, and a calm setting.
Impact in daily life. Participants often report less tension, better sleep, and more sense of control. Results vary per person.
Regulate: first create calm and safety (grounding, breath, reducing stimulation)
Recover: mobility and function within your personal capacity
Integrate: small routines for home so the effects last

This group class is intended for people who need more guidance than a regular yoga class offers. For example, if you are dealing with stress, fatigue, overstimulation, recovery after illness, Long COVID, or chronic symptoms. No yoga experience is needed. If you are unsure whether a group class is the right choice now, you can always get in touch first.
This class is not about pace, performance, or doing as much as possible. We work slowly, with a strong focus on dosing, breathing, sensing, and building up gradually. You are given clear options and room to adapt, so the class can better match your current capacity.
The studio is located in Breda station, so you may occasionally hear sounds from outside, such as announcements or movement in the station. The room itself is calm and clearly set apart. We have been teaching here for several years, including for people with stress symptoms, overstimulation, fatigue, Long COVID, and other recovery needs.
For some participants, the first class takes a little getting used to. That is normal. At the same time, many people find it helpful to practice staying present with everyday sounds in a calm, safe environment, without needing everything to be perfectly silent. In daily life, that perfect silence usually does not exist either.
If this setting feels like too much right now, private guidance may be a better option. That can be online or, in consultation, on location.
No. This class is especially suitable for beginners and for people who want to start carefully or rebuild gradually. You do not need to be flexible or fit to join.
No, there is no intake required for this group class. You can start with a trial class for €10. If you are unsure or your symptoms vary a lot at the moment, it may help to contact us first.
That is completely fine. In this class, you do not have to do everything. You may pause, skip an exercise, or choose a gentler variation. The goal is not to push through at your own expense, but to learn more clearly what is suitable for you right now.
Private guidance often fits better if your symptoms fluctuate strongly, you are easily overstimulated, you have very limited capacity, or you need more individual adaptation first. Group class often works well if you can participate in a calm setting, even if you need to adjust or pause regularly.
Often yes. This group class is designed for people who want to build up carefully. Because symptoms and recovery differ from person to person, group class is not always the best first step. If in doubt, we are happy to help you think through whether group or private support is better.
The class is calm and clearly structured. You work with gentle movement, breath, attention, and moments of rest. There is room to adapt to what you can manage, so you can build step by step without forcing anything.
No. You do not need to be fit, flexible, or athletic to begin. Especially if you are out of condition, feel
