Monika’s journey into yoga was anything but straight, and that is exactly what gives her teaching such a steady, grounded quality. After many years in the corporate environment at IBM, she chose ashram life over office life. She then devoted more than a decade to intensive study and training at Bihar School of Yoga. This blend of real-world experience and traditional discipline informs every class she leads. When she guides students through pranayama or helps refine a posture, her attention to detail reflects years of committed practice. She does more than present techniques; she explains their purpose. Her teaching is shaped by a deep understanding of yoga anatomy and the classical Hatha tradition.
Her work with prenatal and postnatal students adds another layer to her expertise. Monika approaches the female body through the wisdom of yoga, offering guidance with care and insight. As a lead pranayama teacher, she takes students beyond basic breathwork and into practices that connect them with prana, the life force described in yogic tradition. Her classes weave together mantra, mudra, and yoga nidra to offer a fuller expression of classical yoga in practice.
Monika has taught in several locations with Rishikul Yogshala Worldwide, including as a lead teacher in Rishikesh. She continues to share her knowledge wherever it is most needed. Her teaching reflects authentic experience earned through years of dedicated practice and service. Whether you are new to yoga or looking to deepen an established practice, Monika offers something increasingly rare: traditional yoga taught with compassion.
