WHY WE CREATED THIS RETREAT

Created in Norway, this yoga and wild swimming retreat brings together deep inner reflection and exhilarating outdoor exploration. Set on Senja Island, a remote treasure within the Arctic Circle, it offers space to slow down, reconnect, and feel fully present through daily yoga, mindfulness, and plant-based nourishment. At the same time, you’ll embrace the raw beauty of the landscape with cold water dips, fjord adventures, mountain views, and Arctic beaches. Every element is designed to awaken the senses, restore balance, and invite you into a more vibrant way of being.

UNIQUE YOGA RETREATS

With its midnight sun setting, this retreat offers a truly distinctive Arctic experience. Practice yoga beneath endless golden light, surrounded by dramatic fjords, snow-covered peaks, and untamed beaches. Enjoy cold water dips, nourishing plant-based meals, and guided yoga sessions that help reset body and mind. A highlight of the experience is the midnight kayak adventure, where you paddle under the magical northern sky. In a small group setting, this retreat combines movement, stillness, and connection for a deeply restorative escape.

During these summer days, the midnight sun shines for 24 hours, creating ideal conditions for outdoor adventure and yoga in the open air. July brings mild weather, lush scenery, peaceful beaches, and crystal-clear waters, making it a beautiful time to reconnect with nature and yourself.

ACCOMMODATION

5 luxury nights

The retreat takes place in a beautifully designed small hotel on a peaceful harbour in an old fishing village, surrounded by majestic mountains. The group stays in its own apartments, each with ensuite bathrooms and spacious living rooms with stunning fjord views. A private dining area and a serene yoga room overlooking the fjord create a calm and connected atmosphere throughout your stay.

All meals included

Meals are fully plant-based and thoughtfully designed to support recovery, strengthen immunity, and replenish the body after cold water immersion. Nourishing, energising, and rich in healing ingredients, the menu helps restore balance, reduce inflammation, and support overall well-being. The food is also delicious, and all retreats are alcohol free.

Activities

Kayak & Swim

Your retreat includes memorable outdoor experiences that bring you closer to the landscape. Hike Husfjellet mountain for sweeping views, then cool off with a refreshing swim in the fjord. Explore by e-bike on a wild swimming expedition, and experience the midnight sun on a remote Arctic island reached by boat or kayak.

Yoga

Daily yoga sessions are designed to energise, restore, and support your body throughout the retreat. Morning vinyasa flow practices awaken the system, while evening restorative yoga helps you unwind. Each session complements the physical experience of wild swimming, with an emphasis on breath work, alignment, and deep relaxation.

During the retreat, you’ll also enjoy two hot tub and sauna sessions, offering a soothing way to recover after your adventures.

Sauna is widely valued for its benefits to health and well-being, which is why these restorative experiences are included as part of your downtime.

Held in stunning Norway

Your destination is the north-west coast of Senja Island, one of Norway’s most striking regions, where steep mountains fall directly into the sea and white beaches border a small archipelago of uninhabited islands. Travel to Tromso, then continue with a scenic one-hour boat journey through the fjords to Finnsnes.

INSTRUCTOR

Laura Bell

Laura, founder of Zest Life, brings more than 20 years of yoga experience in a teaching style that is dynamic, restorative, and nurturing. Inspired by Ashtanga yoga, her sessions offer both challenge and rest, weaving together physical postures, breath work, and peaceful relaxation.

SCHEDULE

Friday: Arrivals from Tromso airport, then ferry to Finnsnes at 2pm, settle in, evening yoga, followed by welcome dinner.

Saturday: Fjord dip, morning yoga, breakfast, full-day guided hike up Husfjellet mountain, fjord swim, yoga, dinner.

Sunday: Fjord dip, morning yoga, breakfast, E-bike and wild swimming expedition, yoga, dinner.

Monday: Fjord dip, morning yoga, breakfast, optional adventure day, yoga, dinner, midnight sun kayak adventure.

Tuesday: Fjord dip, morning yoga, breakfast, hike up Sukkertoppen, sauna/hot tub, yoga, farewell dinner.

Unlimited fruit, organic teas, coffee and fruit water. 9 yoga sessions. 1 midnight sun island experience - kayaking or a boat trip. 1 e-bike expedition with wild swimming. 1 full day hike to Husfjellet mountain with wild swimming. 1 hike up Sukkertoppen. 1 hot tub, sauna and sea swimming experience.
