Your Teachers
Janita Doelken
Originally from Germany, Janita has lived in many countries and has called Australia home for 14 years. She discovered yoga through injury recovery and was drawn to its healing benefits, never looking back. For the past 16 years, yoga has been a constant companion through life and a busy corporate career. Witnessing people lose their “Yin” inspired her to keep this practice close. Motherhood continues to shape her teaching, and she loves seeing students discover that this practice can deepen connection. Her belief is simple: we are always learning and evolving, and Yin can be a lifelong companion.
Alessia Frisina
Alessia first found yoga in her early twenties while travelling to India on a spiritual quest. After years of exploring the practice, she returned to Rishikesh in 2017 to deepen her studies and complete her teacher training. The birth of her children brought a profound shift in her practice and teaching, drawing her closer to Yin. In labour, she experienced the invitation to soften into each sensation and discovered that surrender could feel like expansion. That insight continues to inform her practice, teaching, and mothering.
Together, Janita and Alessia bring years of experience in Yin Yoga, trauma-aware teaching, and embodied facilitation, offering a balanced blend of knowledge, presence, and care.
