This training offers a progressive introduction to the essential practices of Taoist Inner Alchemy Qigong. It is designed as a clear step-by-step path: first calming the nervous system and restoring emotional balance, then learning to circulate Qi through the body, and finally building the internal structure needed to store and cultivate energy.
The format is practical and experiential throughout. You will work with core Taoist Qigong methods such as the Inner Smile, Six Healing Sounds, Microcosmic Orbit meditation, dynamic Qigong forms, Tai Chi, Iron Shirt, and Tan Tien practices to support nervous system regulation, emotional steadiness, and sustainable vitality.
Each week deepens the practice. First, you learn to release stress and awaken the body's natural energy flow. Next, you strengthen the organs and internal systems through Qigong forms. Finally, you develop grounding, internal structure, and the capacity to store Qi for more advanced Taoist cultivation.
Week 1 – Taoist Fundamentals & Inner Alchemy Foundations
5 November | Introduction
6–10 November | Workshops with Grandmaster Mantak Chia
11 November | Review class with UHT Instructor
32 UHT Cerification Hours (morning qigong + evening session + workshops + review class)
What You Will Learn:
This first week centers on the foundational Taoist Inner Alchemy practices that restore balance and activate natural energy flow. The Inner Smile and Six Healing Sounds are introduced as two key meditation methods for regulating emotions and settling the nervous system.
The Inner Smile reconnects awareness, breath, and positive emotional energy with the organs. By directing a gentle inner smile into the body, participants begin to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, reduce internal stress, and return to a more natural emotional state.
The Six Healing Sounds practice supports this process by clearing excess heat, tension, and emotional congestion from the organs. Each sound corresponds to a specific organ, color, and healing quality, helping bring harmony to the internal systems.
You will also learn to activate and circulate energy through the Microcosmic Orbit, the primary pathway running through the spine and front channel of the body. This orbit functions as a central energetic route that distributes Qi to the organs, glands, and internal systems.
Throughout the week, Grandmaster Mantak Chia supports the process through Energy Transmission, helping participants open energy channels and experience the direct flow of Qi.
By the end of the week, you will have established a stable energetic base for all later Taoist Qigong and Inner Alchemy work.
Week 2 – Inner Alchemy Qigong Level I
13–15 November | Workshops with Grandmaster Mantak Chia
16 November | Review class with UHT Instructor
20 UHT Cerification Hours (morning qigong + evening session + workshops + review class)
What You Will Learn:
Week two introduces Inner Alchemy Qigong Level I, a dynamic set of practices that strengthen the body's internal systems while improving the circulation of energy throughout the whole organism. Movement, breathwork, and internal awareness are combined to support vitality, flexibility, and energetic balance.
You will practice Craniosacral Qigong, which works with the cranial and sacral pumps to support the natural flow of cerebrospinal fluid. This form helps integrate physical energy with emotional balance while also improving spinal flexibility and nervous system regulation.
The Five Element Qigong form activates the internal organs and their related meridians through coordinated movement and breathing. By opening the joints, softening the muscles, and releasing built-up tension, it helps restore harmony within the organ systems and reconnect the body with the Five Element cycle.
In Wisdom Qigong, you explore Taoist methods for strengthening mental focus and internal awareness. By linking the mind with the abdominal brain, the practice helps quiet excessive mental activity and direct energy toward the organs and lower energy center.
You will also work with Stem Cell Qigong, a self-healing practice that stimulates the body's regenerative capacity. Through gentle tapping and activation of specific areas of the body, it supports the body's natural repair processes.
Together, these forms strengthen internal structure, support nervous system harmony, and improve Qi circulation.
Week 3 – Tai Chi, Iron Shirt & Tan Tien Qigong
20–22 November | Workshops with Grandmaster Mantak Chia
23 November | Review class with UHT Instructor
20 UHT Cerification Hours (morning qigong + evening session + workshops + review class)
What You Will Learn:
In the final week, the focus shifts to strengthening the internal body and developing the ability to stabilize and store energy. Classical Taoist movement training is paired with internal cultivation methods that build grounding, structure, and energetic capacity.
You will learn the Tai Chi Inner Structure and practice the simple 12-movement form taught by Grandmaster Mantak Chia. Tai Chi functions both as a martial art and as a moving meditation. Through slow, continuous movement, you develop rooting, spiraling force, and coordination between body, breath, and mind.
The training also includes Iron Shirt Qigong, a key practice for building grounding and internal strength. Developed within martial arts training, it helps stabilize posture, connect with Earth energy, and store Qi within the body's internal structure.
You will also practice Tan Tien Qigong, which focuses on the Lower Tan Tien as the body's primary energy reservoir. Through specific breathing methods, including Tiger and Dragon Breath and a series of animal postures, you learn to center the mind in the abdomen and consolidate Qi in the energetic core.
Why This Retreat Is Structured This Way
In many Qigong trainings, these practices are taught separately. Here, they are brought together in one coherent progression.
You first calm the nervous system, regulate emotions, and open the body's main energy pathways through the Inner Smile, Six Healing Sounds, and Microcosmic Orbit.
Then you strengthen the organs, spine, and internal systems through dynamic Inner Alchemy Qigong forms.
Finally, you develop grounding, internal structure, and the ability to store Qi through Tai Chi, Iron Shirt, and Tan Tien Qigong.
