This course is ideal for yoga teachers, as well as anyone looking to deepen their skills in order to better support students working through trauma and related conditions. The training is highly experiential, combining specific Trauma-Aware Yoga sessions with practical workshops that explore the nuances of leading classes in a sensitive and effective way.
Alongside the hands-on work, participants will also take part in theoretical sessions covering teaching methodology and the anatomy of Trauma-Aware Yoga. You will build a stronger understanding of the body, with particular focus on the nervous and endocrine systems, and learn how these systems are affected by trauma.
The aim is to help you integrate trauma-awareness into your teaching so that you can foster a ‘safe space’ that supports parasympathetic regulation and complements ongoing treatment and self-management practices.
Led by Chris Thompson-Lang and other senior Byron Yoga Centre teachers.
