
Yogi Dinesh Chander Ji is the director of Om Shanti Om Yoga Ashram and began practicing yoga at a very young age. He has 15 years of experience studying and teaching yoga in school. Born in Paonti Sirkhon, Almora in the Himalayan hills, he comes from an orthodox Brahmin family.
At the age of 12, he received his education in Hinduism in Rishikesh at Parmarth Niketan and Sivananda, as well as in Varanasi. He studied mantras, the Vedas, Sanskrit, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Hindu tradition, yogic life, and culture in depth. He is a close disciple of his guru, the great Himalayan yogi Swami Yogananda Maharaj Ji, from whom he learned many forms of yoga.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit, earned the title of Shastri with a Master’s in Sanskrit and Yoga, and successfully received the title of Yogacharya. Warm, generous, friendly, and humble in nature, he is well versed in Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Sivananda, Sukshma Vyayama, and Laughter Yoga.
He has traveled to many countries, including Russia, Europe, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, and the United States, to teach yoga courses. A qualified and experienced yoga teacher, he is registered with Yoga Alliance USA with e-RYT200 and e-RYT500 credentials. His future aspiration is to open his own school with space for 50 to 100 students.
