Sound is all around us, and much of the time we barely register how deeply it affects us. Yet when we listen with intention, it becomes clear that vibration, music, and tone can influence our mood and the nervous system in powerful ways.
Sound healing has roots in ancient traditions and is now increasingly embraced within the modern wellness world. Today, there is growing interest in how sound and vibration may affect us down to a cellular level.
Paired with yin yoga, with its long-held, still postures, this creates a deeply meditative setting for inner work and restoration.
This Yin & Sound teacher training explores how yin yoga and sound can be combined as a therapeutic approach to support physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Throughout the course, your yin yoga guide, Manuela Sauter, will work with selected international artists from different backgrounds, offering a broad range of yin and sound healing experiences. You will hear directly from these artists about their approach to sound healing and become familiar with their instruments.
You will explore the transformative effect of gong baths, where resonant vibrations move through the body and create a sense of harmony and healing. With Manuela’s guidance, you will also learn to play sound healing instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, and other therapeutic tools, supporting you in bringing sound into your own practice and teaching.
This distinctive blend of yin yoga and sound healing is designed to deepen your connection to yourself and to the restorative power of sound.
To complete the journey into yoga and sound, the training also includes an introduction to mantras, bahjans, and kirtans.

Yin, Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Sound Healing, Ceremony Facilitation
Manuela’s path began after her very first yoga class during a visit to Laos, where she immediately embraced the yogic lifestyle. In 2016, she completed her first yoga teacher training and has since developed her work as a traveling yogini, teaching at conscious festivals, workshops, ashrams, and yoga communities around the world. After leaving her former life in Germany, she committed herself fully to the path of a seeker, devoted to truth, meaning, and the depth of human life.
Drawn to the meeting point of mindfulness meditation and yoga asanas, she discovered Yin Yoga and found a practice that became central to her journey. For her, yin offers a unique way to balance physical practice with deep mental relaxation, inspired by Taoist principles of flowing with life and radical acceptance.
Manuela is known for her heartfelt dedication and generous teaching style. Rooted in a Buddhist way of life, she also brings experience from her ongoing work as a meditation guide at the Tushita Centre in Dharamsala, in the foothills of the Himalayas and home in exile to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
Meditation, Yin Yoga, and Yoga Nidra form the foundation of her path, and she shares them with warmth, authenticity, and joy. Her YinLove is reflected in her signature Yin & Sound Healing classes, which she has taught successfully worldwide. As lead trainer for our Meditation and Yin, Sound & Ceremony trainings, Manuela supports students in weaving yin yoga, mindfulness, yoga nidra, and sound healing into therapeutic practices for body, mind, and spirit.
Known as the “yoga of sound,” nāda yoga is described in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika as one of the most effective meditation techniques for calming the mind. In this Yin & Sound module, you will study both the theory and practice of sound healing and yin yoga.
Experience yin yoga healing sessions with Manuela Sauter alongside selected musicians and sound healers. Explore instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, chimes, flute, didgeridoo, harmonium, and handpan, combined with yin yoga, yoga Nidra, mindfulness, and meditation. Together, these sounds create an immersive full-body experience that can support relaxation, restore balance, and open a space for physical, emotional, and mental healing.
Sound waves influence the brain on a subconscious level, creating psychological and physiological responses. Combined with the slow, receptive nature of Yin Yoga, they offer an ideal setting for a healing experience that may help reduce stress and invite deep relaxation.
Sound is not only heard; it is also felt throughout the body. Sound healing works with vibration to reach every part of your being. Theories suggest that stressed or unwell cells may shift into discordant frequencies, and that sound may help support a return to harmony.
Through sound, rhythm, and frequency, the brainwaves may move from the active beta state into the more relaxed alpha state, then into theta meditation and even delta sleep, where inner healing takes place.
Sound healing complements yin yoga by engaging the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress, and helping the body settle into peace, calm, and presence.
During the course, students will explore how to create Yin & Sound yoga sessions and learn to play singing bowls themselves.
Singing bowls are instruments used in meditation and spiritual practice, originating in the Himalayan region of Nepal, India, and Tibet. Traditionally made of bronze or brass, they produce rich harmonic tones when struck or circled with a mallet. In Tibetan culture, they were used by Buddhist monks for ceremonies and meditation, and today they are widely used in wellness and sound healing practices around the world.
Bowls come in different sizes and designs, each with its own sound and energy. They are often used to create a harmonious soundscape for meditation or yoga. Students are recommended to have their own singing bowl set of at least 3 bowls.
While yin yoga is powerful on its own, sound healing can transform it into a multi-sensory experience.
To build a strong foundation for practice and teaching, Manuela will introduce yin yoga according to the principles and components originally laid out by Paul Grilley, Sarah Powers, and Bernie Clark.
You will explore individual skeletal structure, functional alignment, and the qualities of “yin tissue,” along with safe ways to guide poses and intelligent sequencing based on anatomical and energetic needs. The training also covers the Taoist wisdom of meridians and chi flow, including the main meridians and ways to activate them in practice.
Because turning a yin yoga class into a healing experience takes skill and practice, you will also have the opportunity to teach yourself.
Mindfulness principles will offer further guidance, helping you connect body and mind in a Zen state that supports energetic and physical healing.
-With successful completion of the training, students will receive a Yoga Alliance-affiliated 100-hrs certificate from The Body-Mind-Soul Centre (RYS 300 – registered school with Yoga Alliance) which can be accredited to the 300-hrs Yoga Alliance certification program (or alternatively can count as Yoga Alliance continuing education credits).
-Additionally, students will receive a 100-hrs Yin Yoga Therapy™ Practitioner diploma: 'Yin Yoga & Sound Healing".
This program is for you if:
By the end of the training, you'll be prepared and certified to:
This 100-hour course is designed for those with prior yoga training and teaching experience, but it is also accessible to those who are not yet ready to complete the full 200-hour program.
It offers a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education certificate, but it does not qualify for initial Yoga Alliance teacher registration. For beginners, the same training is available in a 200-hour version, which does qualify for initial Yoga Alliance registration.
We generally recommend the longer version for everyone, as it allows more time to practice teaching with constructive feedback, deepen your understanding of yin yoga, and explore Taoist philosophy, meridians, and chi flow in greater depth. This extended 3-week experience also gives you space to refine your teaching, practice creating mindful healing environments, and offer tailored sessions for physical and energetic healing.
