Set in a lush Sri Lankan jungle sanctuary, this training takes place at SOMA Living, a boutique retreat destination designed to help you slow down, recharge, and feel fully immersed in island life. Elegant villas, serene plunge pools, and open, nature-inspired spaces create a beautiful balance of comfort and connection, while Hiriketiya Beach is just a short walk away.
Students can stay in either the SOMA Villas or the more budget-friendly SOMA House, both thoughtfully designed for a restful stay in paradise. The villas feature three spacious bedrooms, stylish bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and plunge pools. SOMA House offers a studio dorm-style option with four private single units, shared bathroom facilities, and ocean views.
Your dedicated rooftop pilates studio, with panoramic sea views, is only a few minutes from your accommodation, alongside an air-conditioned reformer room equipped with brand-new machines. As this training is run in partnership with SOMA Living, all students must stay onsite at either the Villa or the House.
SOMA Living also takes care of the practical details, including room booking, meal packages, and airport pick-up, making your arrival and stay as smooth as possible. Breakfast includes vegan and gluten-free options, house-made sourdough toast, barista coffee, Sri Lankan teas, and fresh local juices. Lunch is served daily with a mix of buffet-style dishes and à la carte options, and optional dinners may include BBQs, buffet meals, and à la carte selections. The food is primarily vegetarian and plant-based, with additional protein options and support for dietary requirements such as gluten-free requests.
A typical day begins with sunrise mat or reformer pilates practice, followed by breakfast, partner teaching, theory, workshops, and guided practice. Afternoons include more learning, then time to swim, surf, walk, enjoy a massage or traditional ayurvedic treatment, or simply relax in the garden or plunge pool. Evenings are for sunset, dinner in the local cafes, and review time to deepen your learning. Please note that this is a sample schedule and exact days will vary.
Led by an experienced team, the training is supported by Sunny Richards, founder of Santosha Yoga and Pilates Institute. With more than 22 years in the fitness industry, Sunny has trained in mat pilates, reformer pilates, vinyasa, vini yoga, yoga therapy, pre- and post-natal yoga, trauma-sensitive yoga, children’s yoga, restorative yoga, advanced breathing techniques, and meditation practices. She is joined by lead trainers Ally Griffith and Jordan Moore, along with a team of master teachers, physiotherapists, and anatomy experts.
Students who secure their place and pay in full one month before training begins receive a $100 USD earlybird discount. You will also gain lifelong access to online pilates teaching assets, four post-training mentor Zoom calls, the full Santosha manual library, access to the worldwide alumni network, and a free 50-hour online meditation course.
The program combines pre-course online lessons, 48 hours of in-person training, anatomy and teaching principles online, self-study, observation and participation, practice teaching, an open-book review, and a filmed class submission. With small class sizes, personalized guidance, and a holistic approach, this training is designed to support your growth as a confident pilates teacher worldwide.
For peace of mind, a 100% risk-free guarantee is included. If you are unable to attend in person for any personal reason, you may transfer your course funds to another future training location and begin online studies right away. If you choose not to attend in person and prefer to study online, the difference in price between the two courses will be refunded.
