Julie Pallesen, founder of This Way Movement, is a certified Pilates instructor trained in New York City with more than three years of teaching experience. She has recently opened her own Pilates studio in Santa Teresa and is passionate about sharing the art of conscious movement. Her teaching is centered on connection with the body, the breath, and the present moment, while staying true to the classical Pilates method inspired by Joseph Pilates and adding her own modern touch.
Train in paradise. The training takes place in a serene villa in Santa Teresa, specifically in Hermosa Beach on the beach side, offering an inspiring space to move, learn, and grow just minutes from the beach. Between classes, enjoy the lively surf-town atmosphere, nourish yourself with fresh local cuisine, and connect with a like-minded community.

Day 1: Welcome + sunset pilates class
Day 2 & 3: History of pilates, principles of pilates, and anatomy + daily mat pilates classes
Day 4 & 5: Mat Pilates Level I & II + mat pilates class + self practice + unsupervised teaching,
Day 6 & 7: Mat Pilates Level III + mat pilates class + + self practice + unsupervised teaching,
Day 8 & 9 & 10: Mat classes, supervised and observation, exam, and teaching classes.
Includes:
Fly into San Jose or Liberia International Airport. From there, take a domestic flight to Cobano, which takes about 20 minutes. You can choose to fly from San Jose or Liberia to Cobano with either Sansa or Green Airways. After landing in Cobano, a taxi will take you to Santa Teresa on a scenic 20-minute drive, and coordination support will be provided.
It is strongly recommended to check the Green Airways or Sansa schedule before booking your main flight so you can plan your internal flight accordingly.
A $1,000 deposit is required to secure your spot and is nonrefundable. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 60 days before the retreat begins.
Travel insurance is highly recommended in case of unforeseen circumstances. No exceptions can be made for any reason. Failure to attend or complete the retreat will not result in a refund or credit.
