When you choose to begin yoga teacher training, you want to know you are in capable hands. As one of the country’s longest-running yoga schools, and as an RTO (Registered Training Organisation) since 2009, Byron Yoga Centre offers premium qualifications in yoga teaching with confidence and care.
The teacher trainers are highly trained, experienced, and genuinely passionate about supporting your personal and professional journey.
Reflecting the holistic approach of the signature Purna Yoga style, the training is comprehensive and thorough. It covers the many dimensions of yoga, including a systematic study of postures, breathing techniques, meditation, philosophy, and ethics.
The curriculum is supported by a strong faculty of resident and guest senior teachers with expertise in Anatomy and Physiology, Yoga Philosophy, Women’s Health, Ayurveda, and Kirtan (chanting).
The belief here is simple: the best way to learn how to teach is to teach. These courses place strong emphasis on practical experience, so you leave not only with a deeper understanding of the art and science of yoga, but also with the confidence to begin teaching.
You will have ample opportunity to teach the public, working with real students rather than only practising with fellow trainees. Trainees begin teaching public classes early in the course and complete at least 12 hours of open public class teaching by the end. Safety is a key focus throughout this practical training.
Many trainees find yoga teacher training to be transformational in ways they never expected.
