The Herdman Healing Sanctuary
The Herdman Healing Sanctuary offers a beautiful setting for an uplifting Kirtan experience — a voice meditation practice that invites you to connect inwardly through sound, music, and mantra.
Rooted in the Bhakti Yoga tradition, the yoga of devotion, Kirtan brings together voice and music in a shared meditative practice. We will chant simple but powerful mantras to melody, accompanied by harmonium and drum.
As we sing and chant together, the vibration created in the room can support both physical and mental wellbeing. Some chants will be guided in a traditional call-and-response style, while at other moments we will chant as one collective group.
Over the course of the evening, we will explore 3/4 different mantras, with pauses in between for poetry and stories connected to each mantra.
Holly Hood has been leading Kirtan since 2017 and uses mantra daily in her own life to support her while raising her two young children. She studied with Nikki Slade and has joined Nikki at festivals across the UK to offer Kirtan.
This session is open to everyone and fully accessible. You do not need to be a singer to take part — simply come with a desire to enjoy this heartfelt practice.
Parking is a 4-5 minute walk from the venue. You will be met on Honeycritch Lane and guided to a parking space close to the event.
There are 3 disabled parking spaces on site. Please contact us if you need to use one of these spaces.
During the winter months, please bring a torch, as the track to the venue is not lit.
We require 48 hours' notice for cancellation of any group event.
If you cancel with more than 48 hours' notice, you will receive a full refund, or you may book onto the same event on the next available date if the event runs regularly.
Unfortunately, cancellations made less than 48 hours before the start time of your booked event are non-refundable.
