A unique space for practice
Let calm, love, and insight arise from within.
Exploring What Matters Most
A retreat is a chance to step away from the pace of daily life and give yourself time to settle deeply, reflect on what is truly important, and allow a sense of inner freedom to emerge. Gomde provides a setting shaped by years of devoted practice, blessed by many realized masters, and held within the vastness of nature. Here, you can reconnect with what genuinely matters and discover a trustworthy path within.
The Meaning of Retreat
Retreat is not about withdrawing from life, but about meeting it more fully. It is a time to sit in stillness and look inward with honesty. It invites you to explore timeless methods that help transform and open the heart, like a flower turning toward the sun. Whether your days are spent in meditation, walking in the forest, studying texts, or simply resting in open awareness, retreat offers the space for what is most meaningful to come forward.
In retreat, we resolve the most important:
“I will occupy this awareness with dharma”
Retreat at Gomde
Gomde is shaped by dharma and by the blessings of teachers such as Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche. The natural surroundings, the uplifting temple, and the shared spirit of fellow practitioners create an atmosphere that supports authentic practice. Whether your retreat centers on meditation, study, or contemplation, the environment naturally encourages openness and insight.
Taking Retreat Home
The value of retreat is not limited to the time spent here; it continues to ripple into daily life and every interaction. The calm, clarity, and kindness cultivated in retreat can accompany you wherever you go, helping you meet challenges with greater ease and see others with warmth and less seriousness.
Welcome to a space of simplicity, openness, a softening of the heart, and a refreshing perspective on everything.

Retreat in the Deepest Sense
Remaining in seclusion allows a certain level of quiet to unfold. With fewer distractions and obligations, there is more room to go deeper and see more clearly. As body and mind grow calmer, we become more able to look at our habits honestly, make space for compassion, and recognize the natural state of mind.
In retreat, we practice dharma until we are no longer distracted by anything. The quiet and compassion cultivated there become a truly free state of mind, available wherever we are.
