Step into an 11-day certified short-term yoga course for beginners in the peaceful, nature-rich setting of Kerala, India. This 100-hour training is designed for anyone ready to deepen their practice, move beyond app-based learning, and understand yoga as more than physical movement.
If your practice has started to feel repetitive, this course in Varkala offers a meaningful next step. Rather than simply following along in class, you will explore how yoga can influence the way you breathe, think, and live. It is an ideal choice for those beginning their yogic journey, as well as for anyone curious about whether teaching could become their path.
Because many people cannot commit to a full month away, this program offers a practical and flexible way to begin professional study. The 100-hour course is the first half of a complete 200-hour training. You will spend two weeks on the beautiful cliffs of Varkala, building a strong foundation and refining your technique. When the time is right, ideally within the next 2 years, you may return to complete the second 100-hour phase.
This training is structured to give you clarity, confidence, and enough time to learn without feeling rushed. You will study the same core principles taught in the full 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program, making this an excellent starting point for personal growth or future teaching.
Certificate note: after completing this first 100-hour block, you will receive a certificate of participation. Once both parts are completed, you will earn the official 200-hour teaching credential recognized worldwide by Yoga Alliance USA.
Your days are designed to feel balanced and natural, not overwhelming. Mornings begin early in the cool quiet of the day with asana practice, followed by pranayama. The schedule allows space for reflection, so the learning can settle in and support your growth as a practitioner and future guide.
The teaching team brings yoga to life through lived experience, not just theory. Every instructor is highly certified and rooted in authentic Indian yoga traditions. Their approach is clear, practical, and supportive, helping you improve alignment, understand classical texts, and begin developing your own voice.
Eligibility: participants must be at least 18 years old. The course is taught in English, so a basic understanding and speaking ability are required. No advanced experience is needed, as this is a beginner-friendly program. What matters most is a committed and open mindset.
Accommodation and food: during your stay, you will be provided with clean, peaceful, and comfortable rooms designed to support rest and focus. Meals follow a traditional satvic approach, with fresh, nourishing, and easy-to-digest food that supports steady energy and lighter practice.
Founded in 2010, Rishikul Yogshala is known for offering genuine yoga education while staying true to traditional roots. As a Registered Yoga School, it bridges ancient wisdom with modern life, and the Varkala center offers a calm coastal setting for meaningful transformation. Upon completing the 100-hour training, you receive a recognized foundational certification and a clear pathway toward advanced study.
