I have spent more than 50 years on this earth, and I am gradually coming to trust that each of us is here for a deeper purpose. The more I explore this, the more I feel called to release what no longer supports my path and move through life with greater ease and clarity.
Thirty years of yoga practice have helped me become more grounded, centered, soft, open, and receptive, while deepening my connection to truth. Yoga has been my main way of refining my physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual being, and it later became my profession as well. For the past 20 years, I have been teaching yoga, and for the last 10 years, Vijñāna Yoga has brought a particularly transformative dimension to my work.
What also nourishes and uplifts me is dancing, singing, playing the accordion, and gathering around a campfire with women. I love combining disciplined practices such as yoga with the creative freedom of dance and music, where I can express myself fully and let life move through me in harmony with the universe.
I am a yogi, dancer, musician, teacher, and space holder. I facilitate women’s circles and relationship circles, and I am also a mother, sister, dog mama, and loyal friend. Connection with people and animals matters deeply to me. I tend to listen more than I speak, and I often sense others through feeling rather than words.
I was born and raised in the Swiss Alps, but I have always had a strong desire to travel, explore, and share life with different cultures around the world. Twenty years ago, I found myself in the southwest of the Algarve, drawn in by the beautiful nature, the ever-changing ocean, long beaches, sunny days, and the relaxed atmosphere. In the end, it was a street dog named Rusty who stole my heart and helped me settle, ground myself, and stop moving on.
In 2007, I founded Algarveyoga because I felt a strong wish to share my understanding of yoga and my joy for life. At the time, I was a pioneer in creating a yoga retreat company in my region. Soon, Algarve Yoga began to grow and flourish, and we became a close team of friends, welcoming beautiful people for a week of inspiration and helping them align with the flow and vibration of the universe.
I studied Physical Education at ETH University in Zurich, Switzerland; trained as a Yoga Instructor at Sivananda Ashram; completed an Ayurveda Health and Nutrition Consultant training with Dr. Kamlesh in India; studied Nutrition at the School of Natural Health Science in Great Britain; took a counselling course in the EGAN Model with Dr. Graham Dexter; trained as a Tantra Massage Therapist with Peter Littlejohn Cook; studied Vijnana Yoga with Teresa Caldas and Orit Sen Gupta; completed Sexual Counselling Training for Therapists with Vasumati; and I am currently studying somatic education for women at the Somatic Institute for Women with Maanee Chrystal.
I am grateful to all my teachers, especially Teresa Caldas for yoga, Pedro Borges Paz and Fausto Matias for dance, and Katia Leonardo for voice. I also learn continuously from many voices and perspectives, including podcasts by Joe Dispenza, Gabor Maté, Michaela Boehm, Esther Perel, Padma Aon, Dr. Saida Desllets, and Chris Bale. My deepest interests lie in connection, relationships, healing between the feminine and the masculine, and intimacy and sexuality. I am thankful for my friends, current partner, former partners, family, and animals, who all reflect different parts of my being.
