Join Shelley Hoffos for a week of yoga, breathwork, healing, and sunshine in beautiful Nosara. This retreat is designed to support a deeper connection to the foundations of yoga and meditation while introducing healing traditions rooted in Costa Rican culture. There will be time to relax on the beach, explore local life in this renowned Blue Zone, and move through a meaningful inner journey together.
Norte Nosara is centrally located in downtown, within walking distance of white sand beaches, local shops, and excellent food options. Known for some of the best surf in Costa Rica, Nosara offers plenty of space for adventure, and guests are encouraged to choose what feels right for them. A private surfing lesson is highly recommended. This retreat welcomes all levels of experience and also offers the opportunity to explore other yoga studios in Nosara, where world-renowned teachers and a wide variety of class styles can be found.

About the Host
Shelley Hoffos is a 550hr E-RYT yoga teacher and the owner of Rooted Heart Yoga & Art Studio in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. She is also a compassionate intuitive healer and Reiki Master, known for supporting clients with strength, warmth, and care. Her work is centered on helping others connect with their passion, purpose, and authentic self. Shelley brings intention, self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-love to her teaching, and she is dedicated to offering yoga in a way that honors each person’s unique body. Described as kind, funny, and warm, she has traveled widely and holds Costa Rica close to her heart as a second home.
Why Nosara
Nosara is loved for its lush beaches, steady waves, peaceful atmosphere, and open multicultural community. Located on the Nicoya Peninsula — one of the world’s five Blue Zones — it is a place associated with longevity and healthy living. Surfers, yogis, families, and nature lovers are drawn here for its natural beauty and calm energy. As many visitors say, “I came for a week, and I never left.”
The retreat begins with check-in at Norte Nosara, followed by time to settle in and explore the area. The beach is a short walk away, and later that day the group will gather by the pool to connect. The following morning begins with a flow yoga practice in the Yoga Shala, followed by breakfast.
Pricing
A $500 CAD non-refundable deposit is required to hold your place. A payment plan can be arranged, or the remaining balance is due 60 days before the retreat begins. All payments are non-refundable.
Accommodation
Norte Nosara Yoga & Surf Hotel features private thatched-roof bungalows with a modern design and tropical details. Each room includes a private entrance, outdoor seating area, hot water, air conditioning, biodegradable bath products, a small refrigerator, and a safe. Sustainable materials such as wood, stone, and bamboo are used throughout the property.
Food
Breakfast and lunch are served daily at Naked Foods, a local vegan restaurant next door. Guests can enjoy cold-pressed juice, salads, bowls, smoothies, raw treats, and desserts. The menu is always plant-based, organic, local, and made with high-quality ingredients.

Though tucked away for privacy, the cabanas are just steps from the lagoon-style pool with waterfall and bar area, the covered Movement sanctuary, and the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean.
