Vinyasa Krama is far more than a dynamic, music-filled flow class. The term comes from vi, meaning order, and nyasa, meaning placement, while krama refers to the uninterrupted sequence of events from beginning to end. Together, it describes the intelligent and intentional arrangement of asanas, linked through breath. When a sequence is designed with clarity and purpose, the practice can create what is known as a Sattvic Effect: a state of complete alertness and complete relaxation at the same time. If a practice leaves you feeling overstimulated or drained, it may simply not have been built with enough awareness. Over time, this approach turns the physical practice into a tool for conscious growth of body, mind, and spirit.
In Vinyasa, each movement into and out of a posture is connected to an inhale or exhale, allowing the practice to ride the wave of breath. Yet many practitioners have never been properly introduced to the subtle preparatory breathing methods that support the more active Ujjayi breath. This 100-hour course explores Vinyasa Krama in depth so that both teachers and practitioners can apply it with greater skill, understanding, and purpose.

The course takes place in one of our favorite places in southern Crete: a beautiful, picturesque village on a peninsula, surrounded by water on three sides. The village has a relaxed, hippie atmosphere and stretches of beach on both sides of the peninsula. You’ll also find excellent food here, from local Greek tavernas and seafood tavernas to a vegetarian restaurant that is a favorite of ours. To reach Paleochora, fly into Chania International Airport and then take a bus from the central bus station. Buses run frequently throughout the day, and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. The training venue is a short taxi ride from the Paleochora bus stop, and taxi assistance can be arranged. It is also possible to take a taxi directly from the airport.
The venue is an eco-lodge built specifically for seminars, located 4 km outside Paleochora in a peaceful natural setting with the privacy needed for this work. Beaches and the village are accessible by taxi, and group pick-up and drop-off are usually arranged at a set time. Many past participants have also enjoyed walking to the beach and into Paleochora, a route that takes around 20 to 40 minutes. Accommodation is based on double occupancy. Single rooms are limited but may be arranged upon request.
*Food is not included in this course. Because dietary preferences have varied widely in recent years, including meals was not cost effective for participants. Instead, two fully equipped kitchens are available for use, and you can store and prepare your own food. During the stay, two supermarket trips will be arranged so you can buy brunch groceries. Late lunch or early dinner is usually enjoyed outside at the beach or in one of the many restaurants serving fresh local food.
Prices are per person in shared double occupancy.
