Settle into six nights of all-inclusive yoga on the peaceful banks of Koggala Lake in southern Sri Lanka. With energising morning practices, restorative evening sessions, vegan meals, and plenty of space to truly disconnect, this retreat takes place in a purpose-built lakeside venue surrounded by jungle, wildlife, and a rare sense of quiet.
During the retreat, you’ll be introduced to Yoga Synergy, a modern postural yoga method influenced by Chinese yoga traditions such as Qi Gong. Rooted in evidence-based principles and designed with safety in mind, this approach is suitable for students of every level and is built around three connected practices.
This practice begins with gentle, flowing movement inspired by Qi Gong, alongside focused exploration of the spine. Starting with individual joint complexes, you’ll move from simple patterns into circular sequences that awaken the body as a whole. As the joints begin to work together, the practice becomes more integrated, leading into fluid transitions that echo familiar yoga postures.
Standing spinal sequences are added to deepen awareness, control, and freedom through the spine — essential for safe and effective movement. Accessible to all levels, this practice is both grounding and expansive, offering a clear understanding of the body as one connected system.
This is the retreat’s modern vinyasa yoga practice, shaped by a strong foundation in anatomy and physiology. You’ll move through both traditional and contemporary yoga asanas with clarity, fluidity, and thoughtful refinement.
The practice also includes a fresh perspective on sun salutations, bringing a renewed sense of flow to familiar sequences. Practical and easy to follow, it is designed to be welcoming for practitioners at every stage.
Drawing from yin-inspired and restorative traditions, this practice creates a deeply supportive space to slow down and reconnect. With props, long-held floor-based postures, and a gentle pace, the body is invited to release tension from the fascia and nervous system.
The focus is on softness, surrender, and intuitive awareness — balancing the more active sessions with deep rest. It’s a time to turn inward, explore stillness, and allow the body to settle into a calm, receptive state. Suitable for all levels, it supports integration and renewal.
