Prenatal yoga offers a gentle, low-impact way to stay active throughout pregnancy, supporting both physical comfort and emotional balance. This practice blends mindful movement with breath awareness, helping expectant mothers prepare for the changing demands of pregnancy, labor, and early motherhood. It is also designed to be adaptable, making it suitable for different stages of pregnancy and individual needs.
Prenatal yoga is a supportive approach to exercise that brings together body, mind, and spirit. The practice emphasizes gentle stretching, light strengthening, mental centering, and a deeper awareness of the breath. It encourages a calm, steady connection to the body while building confidence and inner stability.
Breathwork. You will be guided to breathe slowly and deeply through the nose. These techniques may help manage shortness of breath during pregnancy and support you in working through contractions during labor.
Setting intentions. Working toward clear goals can strengthen self-trust. Your yoga practice is intended to support you physically and emotionally as you move through this experience.
Gentle stretching. The class includes soft movement for areas such as the neck and arms, helping the body move comfortably through its natural range of motion.
Postures. You will practice standing, sitting, and floor-based poses that develop strength, flexibility, and balance, with the support of props such as blankets, cushions, and belts.
Cool down and relaxation. Each class ends with relaxation to calm the muscles, restore the resting heart rate, and bring the breath back into a steady rhythm. You may be invited to observe your breath, notice sensations, thoughts, and emotions, or repeat a mantra to encourage self-awareness and inner calm.
Joining this course reflects a desire for deeper inner discovery. It is a focused study of yoga, shaped not only by its content and practice, but also by the loving intention woven into every detail of the experience.
