New Year Detox Retreat

Welcome the new year with a nourishing retreat in the tropical north shore of Maui, where raw food, yoga, Aerial Yoga Play, and sound healing come together in a lush paradise of waterfalls and exotic fruit trees. Designed to refresh body, mind, and spirit, this experience invites you to reset your habits, deepen your understanding of holistic wellness, and return home feeling inspired and empowered.

Each day begins in a peaceful natural sanctuary with birdsong and a raw breakfast, followed by a two-hour morning practice combining Hatha yoga, Aerial Yoga Play, and sound healing. You will then enjoy another gourmet raw meal, free time to explore the local jungles and waterfalls, and an afternoon raw food cooking class before sitting down to dinner made from your own creations. The retreat includes daily raw food classes, three gourmet raw food meals, Aerial Yoga Play classes, and sound healing sessions.

Morning practice

Start the day with two hours of healing movement and sacred sound. The session opens with a 45-minute Hatha / Kundalini yoga warm-up designed to ground the body, connect with the breath, and open the spine. From there, you will move into the Aerial Yoga Play swings, a playful and empowering approach that has inspired participants from ages 10 to 87.

The practice ends with a 30 to 45-minute sound journey featuring crystal singing bowls tuned to 432 Hertz, live music, and immersive soundscapes. These sound meditations may explore chakras, organs, energy bodies, astral travel, and other transformational themes.

Food classes

Daily raw food classes offer both an introduction to raw food as a healthy lifestyle choice and a gourmet culinary experience. These hands-on sessions use pantry staples from health food stores as well as fruit and vegetables foraged on Maui.

Topics include raw food basics, fermentation, kombucha, nut cheese, raw chocolate, cheesecakes, good fats, sweeteners, superfoods, enzymes, equipment, and how to prepare food that is both nourishing and delicious.

Your Guides

Heather Salmon
Heather has followed a cleansing and healing path for more than 30 years and has guided hundreds of people through cleanses. She has worked as a sound healer for 15 years using 432 Hertz crystal singing bowls, voice, and other instruments. Her background includes yoga, advanced clinical hypnotherapy, reflexology, aromatherapy, astrology, Reiki mastery, Huna, and intuitive healing. She holds a degree in Economics from the University of Toronto and founded the Black Swan Temple in 2010.

Donny Regal
Donny is the visionary creator of the Black Swan Temple Sanctuary. Through music, he offers spiritual inspiration, healing, and awakening. For the past 25 years, he has supported spiritual events, ceremonies, dances, and Tantric pujas, and has also worked as a producer and musician on spiritual and new age albums.

Kyra Bramble
Kyra is a plant-based chef, yogi, wild-crafter, nutrition expert, and passionate lover of life. She sees food as a way to share her soul and believes it can open the door to spirituality, science, history, and the wisdom of the body. She holds a Le Cordon Bleu degree from California Culinary Academy, a Wild-crafter Certification from Earth Medicine Institute, and an RYT from Mangala Yoga, and is currently studying toward a Holistic Nutrition Consultant qualification through Hawthorn University.

Location

The retreat takes place at Black Swan Temple Maui in Hawaii, USA, a tropical jungle earth temple surrounded by waterfalls and located in a sacred part of the island. This land was once known as the home of the owl, a resting place for mature souls, and a place where Hawaiian royalty received training. It is best suited to travelers who are happy to unplug and immerse themselves in nature rather than those seeking modern hotel comforts. Guests wake to beautiful sunrises and the sounds of the natural world.

The 2.5-acre sanctuary is a living food forest with coconut, papaya, banana, avocado, starfruit, orange, lemon, and lime trees, along with organic greens and passion fruit. The grounds also feature giant bamboo, exotic tropical flowers, Indonesian art, statues, and fountains. The temple is rustic and does not have air conditioning.

Cell service is generally good, especially for Verizon, and satellite internet is available though limited. Guests are encouraged to treat their stay as a true retreat from the internet.

Accommodation

Accommodation includes simple yet beautifully appointed Balinese cabins and a suite with a private bathroom. The cabins are nestled in the tropical garden for privacy and feature shared bathrooms plus an outdoor shower. The suite offers its own private bathroom. Limited satellite Wi-Fi is available, and there is no television. Guests also have access to a communal kitchen, office space, and a far infrared sauna. Classes and workshops are held in the sanctuary.

Food

This all-inclusive retreat features gourmet raw food designed to delight the palate while supporting cleansing without deprivation. Breakfast may include fresh fruit, raw pastries, fresh nut milk, superfood smoothies, and cold pressed coffee. Lunch features rich salads, raw chips, and spreads, while dinner offers creative raw interpretations of dishes you may never have imagined could taste so good. Decadent cheesecakes and cakes are served daily as well.

Payment

Availability will be confirmed within two days after your request is submitted. A 50% deposit is due when reserving your place, with the remaining balance due 30 days before the retreat begins. If booking is made within 30 days of the start date, full payment is due within 3 days of reservation.

A completed booking form and 50% deposit are required to secure your place. Once both are received, a booking confirmation letter will be sent by email and serves as confirmation. Until then, the booking cannot be guaranteed.

All places are subject to availability at the time the deposit is paid. If the retreat becomes fully booked while funds are clearing, a full refund or an alternative retreat date will be offered.

4.25% taxes, plus a 5% convenience fee and service charges, apply. A minimum of 24 hours' advance booking is required, and bookings made within 24 hours may incur additional fees.

Cancellations

Once a booking has been received, any cancellation results in loss of the deposit. No refunds are available for cancellations made less than 30 days before arrival.
