Description

With close to 1,300 retreat participants since 2018, Inwardbound has become one of the leading names in psilocybin retreats worldwide.

This 5-day group retreat is intentionally intimate and designed to support a deep healing process. Across the retreat, you will take part in 2 psilocybin ceremonies, alongside carefully chosen practices that help you get the most from the experience and support meaningful change in your life.

What the programme includes:

  • Preparation Sessions: Begin with guided preparation led by a psychotherapist and experienced facilitators. These sessions cover intention setting, safety, and self-care, and include a 1:1 consultation with a psychotherapist to help you prepare for the journey ahead.
  • 2 Psilocybin Ceremonies: Enter a safe, supportive ceremonial setting and explore the healing potential of psilocybin with experienced facilitation. The experience is designed to support inner exploration, insight, and personal growth.
  • Integration Sessions: Make sense of your experience through guided integration work and a 1:1 psychotherapist consultation, helping you bring your insights into everyday life.
  • Yoga & Meditation: Daily yoga, meditation, and gentle movement help you reconnect with body, mind, and spirit while encouraging strength, flexibility, and inner calm.
  • Breathwork: Breathwork sessions are included to help release held tension, shift stagnant energy, and restore balance and vitality.
  • Time in Nature and Relaxation: Enjoy walks in the national park woodlands around the retreat center, and unwind in the sauna or by the fire pit in the evenings.
  • Community Support: Share the experience with open-minded people who are interested in alternative paths to healing, and connect through mutual support, reflection, and encouragement.

Daily Schedule:

Day 1: Arrival begins with pickup from a central Amsterdam location at 14:00, followed by private transfer to the retreat center. In the evening, there will be preparation, an optional nature walk or sauna, dinner, an opening circle, and an early night.

Day 2 & Day 3: Start with morning yoga, meditation, or breathwork, then breakfast. There is an optional nature walk, followed by an opening circle and preparation. The psilocybin ceremony takes place in the afternoon. In the evening, reflection is supported by the psychotherapist and facilitator, followed by dinner and integration practices such as art therapy, time in nature, or relaxing by the fire.

Day 4: The day begins with yoga, meditation, or breathwork, followed by breakfast. Integration continues with the psychotherapist and facilitator through 1:1 support, connection lunch, and an optional nature walk or sauna. In the evening, there is a cacao ceremony and body movement, then a group dinner, with time for the sauna and fire pit.

Day 5: A final bodywork programme of yoga, meditation, and breathwork is followed by breakfast, a closing circle, and mandala creation. Departure is at 12:30pm, with drop-off in Amsterdam city center or at the airport.

Please note: To apply for a retreat, you will first be invited to an exploration call where questions can be discussed. If the retreat feels like a good fit, you can then complete a full screening form and pay a deposit to secure your place. A consultation with a psychotherapist will follow to confirm suitability.

The retreat takes place at a beautiful venue 45 minutes north of Amsterdam. Set within an authentic 19th-century Dutch abbey, the accommodation offers a peaceful setting for your 5-day retreat. Every participant has a private room, and the spacious common areas provide room to rest, journal, and settle in. The quiet location allows for reflection and nature walks, and the chapel is available for private meditation and reflection.

Why InwardBound?

InwardBound brings together psychotherapists, PhD scientists, and holistic therapists who combine science and spirituality in a safe and supportive container. Working in the tradition of Dr. Stan Grof, the team helps create the conditions for people to connect with their own inner healer.

The organisation also draws on a long tradition of psilocybin use in Ireland. Inspired by Celtic ancestors who worked with wild mushrooms of Northern Europe for healing and spiritual growth, InwardBound continues this land-based tradition in a modern setting that supports ceremony and reconnection with nature.

To help make this form of healing accessible across different socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, financial assistance is available for suitable candidates.

About Rob I often say this work comes from necessity rather than theory. It is rooted in lived experience, not something I simply studied in a book or followed because it became fashionable. My path has been one of healing, and psilocybin has been a vital part of that journey since my first psychedelic experience in the foothills of the Dublin...
