Forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku, is an invitation to slow down, step into nature with ease, and awaken the senses through mindful presence.
During this special retreat, you are invited to restore your energy and reconnect with your inner voice over a few days in the Pyrenees Mountains.
These days are designed to help you:
The practice of shinrin-yoku, or Forest Bathing, began in Japan in the 1980s as an ecological response to technological expansion, encouraging people to return to nature. Since the 1990s, science has confirmed its benefits, including lower blood pressure and cortisol levels, better concentration and memory, and immune support through phytoncides released by trees and plants.
The effects of time spent among trees, open sky, and birdsong can last for hours afterward. In our retreats, where forest bathing is a core practice, we believe these benefits can extend far beyond the stay itself.
Who is this retreat for?
It is open to everyone, regardless of age, physical condition, or experience level. The practices offered are designed for all bodies and all people.
Throughout the retreat, we will explore:

Yoga asana classes are open to all levels. Each session blends elements and exercises from Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa, and movement.
There is one yoga class each day, with progressive sequencing and variations adapted to different levels and individual limitations.
On the day of the long hike in Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, the day ends with a gentle Yin Yoga session and guided deep relaxation.
Meditative walks and longer hikes are an essential part of the retreat and are accessible to everyone.
They help us experience our deep connection with nature, step by step and breath by breath. Silence and deep listening enrich the journey, while nature becomes our greatest teacher.
There will be two 2–3 hour meditative walks in nature, including forest bathing and creative activities to open the senses and deepen mindfulness.
One day includes a half-day meditative hike, leaving after breakfast and returning for a gentle yoga class. This offers a beautiful opportunity to enjoy Ordesa National Park and the Sobrarbe-Pyrenees UNESCO Global Geopark.
Meditation
Daily morning meditation offers a peaceful way to begin the day.
The techniques are simple and easy to continue at home, using universal points of focus such as posture, breathing, bodily sensations, and sound.
Satsang
In Sanskrit, Sat means truth and Sang means group or community. Satsang is a gathering to share questions, concerns, and deeper insights, while also meditating together, contemplating nature, and singing meditative songs or mantras.
Joyful Silence
Each day, from the end of satsang or free time until after lunch the next day, Casa Cuadrau holds a joyful silence. This deep silence is healing, calming the mind, easing the heart, and allowing for more attentive listening. It also supports restful sleep and brings mental clarity to the next day’s yoga, meditation, and other activities.
Breakfast and lunch are enjoyed mindfully in silence, as part of mindful eating. In the afternoon, mindful speaking and deep listening create space for more authentic connection.
Electronic Detox
Internet service is not provided, so the retreat atmosphere remains protected and contact with nature can be fully experienced.
Upon arrival, guests are asked to switch off mobile phones and all electronic devices and enjoy a digital detox. Before arriving, please let family, friends, and colleagues know you will be unavailable during your stay.
This quiet moment invites connection with nature, with yourself, and with the group.
The tea leaf is seen as a medicinal plant for body and soul, and the ceremony serves as a reminder that our bond with nature is real and alive.
During the week, planned activities will awaken creativity through connection with nature and with ourselves.
We will explore art through dance, painting, and writing, creating space to feel, listen, and discover ourselves more deeply.
Silence, calm, and awakened senses make it easier to connect with creative power. These practices encourage intuition, self-discovery, and presence without judgement.
