




Discover Ladakh on a journey that combines dramatic Himalayan scenery with rich cultural encounters, beginning in Srinagar and crossing the legendary Zoji La Pass into the high-altitude desert of Ladakh. This carefully paced itinerary brings together ancient monasteries, remote border villages, striking mountain passes, Nubra Valley’s sand dunes, and the stunning waters of Pangong Lake. Designed for travelers who want culture, landscapes, and adventure in one experience, it offers a memorable introduction to Ladakh’s history, spirituality, and rugged natural beauty.
Day 01 – Srinagar to Kargil
Upon pickup from Srinagar, set out on a scenic drive toward Ladakh through the picturesque Sindh Valley. The route passes Sonamarg, the famed Meadow of Gold, before climbing toward the iconic Zoji La Pass, the dramatic mountain gateway between Kashmir and Ladakh. Continue through Drass, known as one of the coldest inhabited places on earth, and stop at the Kargil War Memorial, dedicated to the soldiers of the 1999 conflict. By evening, arrive in Kargil, surrounded by stark mountain landscapes, and check in for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 02 – Kargil to Leh
After breakfast, travel onward to Leh through a landscape of barren mountains and ancient caravan routes. En route, visit Mulbekh Monastery, home to the impressive Maitreya Buddha carving, and continue to Lamayuru Monastery, set in a lunar-like terrain. Cross the high passes of Namkila and Fotu La before reaching Alchi Monastery, celebrated for its thousand-year-old murals. The journey continues to the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and the Hall of Fame Museum. Arrive in Leh by evening, check into the hotel, and stay overnight.
Day 03 – Leh Local Sightseeing
Spend the day exploring the cultural center of Ladakh. Visit Thiksey Monastery, beautifully positioned on a hilltop overlooking the Indus Valley and known for its magnificent Maitreya Buddha statue. Continue to Shey Palace, once the summer residence of Ladakh’s royal family. Later, visit Shanti Stupa for sweeping views of Leh town and the surrounding mountains. End the day at Leh Palace, a historic landmark that reflects Tibetan architecture and royal heritage. The evening is free for exploring Leh market and local cafés before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 04 – Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La
Drive to Nubra Valley across Khardung La Pass, one of the world’s highest motorable roads, with spectacular Himalayan views along the way. Descend into Nubra, where the scenery shifts to sand dunes framed by snow-covered peaks. Visit Diskit Monastery, famous for its towering Maitreya Buddha statue overlooking the valley. Continue to Hunder, known for its cold desert landscape and rare double-humped Bactrian camels. Guests may enjoy an optional camel ride before checking into camp or hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 05 – Excursion to Turtuk Village
After breakfast, take a scenic excursion to Turtuk, a remote village near the Indo-Pakistan border that was opened to tourism only recently. Once part of Baltistan, Turtuk offers a distinctive cultural experience with Balti traditions, stone houses, apricot orchards, and warm local hospitality. Explore the village lanes, meet local residents, and take in views of the Karakoram ranges. After discovering this unique region, return to Nubra Valley by evening for an overnight stay.
Day 06 – Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake
Depart Nubra Valley and continue toward Pangong Lake via the scenic Shyok River route. The drive passes remote villages and dramatic mountain formations before revealing the famous blue waters of Pangong Lake at an altitude of over 14,000 feet. Spend the evening enjoying the peaceful setting as the lake changes color with the shifting light. Dinner and overnight stay are at lakeside camps beneath a star-filled Himalayan sky.
Day 07 – Pangong Lake to Leh via Chang La
Rise early to watch sunrise over Pangong Lake, one of Ladakh’s most unforgettable sights. After breakfast, drive back to Leh crossing Chang La Pass, among the highest mountain passes in the region. Enjoy scenic stops and mountain views along the way before reaching Leh by afternoon. Check into the hotel and spend the evening at leisure, either exploring the markets or relaxing after the journey. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 08 – Departure from Leh
After breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey, taking with you lasting memories of Ladakh’s landscapes, monasteries, and distinctive Himalayan culture.
