ENVISIONING CLIMATE FUTURES
CLIMATE CAMP: ZERO & BEYOND
A retreat for next generation leaders
An invitation-only gathering at Selgars Mill, Devon, UK
Dates: Thu 15th to Sun 18th May
A FORUM IN NATURE
Cutting emissions and removing carbon over the coming decades will take more than technological progress alone. It will also demand social, behavioural, political, and systemic change. While many futures are possible, they are rarely explored in a way that asks which ones we truly want to build.
Climate Camp was created in response to the need for a dedicated forum where next generation leaders can imagine the future they want to help shape. That process depends on community, collaboration, and trust.
WHO IS COMING?
This invite-only event brings together next generation leaders from across the carbon removals space and the wider climate movement.
It is designed to create meaningful exchange between people working in technical and creative roles, encouraging connection beyond familiar silos. A key aim is to bring the carbon removal community into conversation with those working outside it, opening space to challenge existing perspectives and form new ones.
WHY GATHER IN NATURE?
Our physiological state shapes how we think, relate, and respond.
Climate Camp offers a new way of gathering in nature, designed to re-energise and inspire the decision-makers of tomorrow. The programme combines technical sessions with somatic, nature-based activities intended to spark fresh thinking and support deeper human connection.
THE BRIEF
To co-create a holistic vision for CDR in the UK in 2050 and present it at London Climate Action Week in June.
OUR THEORY OF CHANGE
Rather than approaching the climate crisis from a place of anxiety, scarcity, and overwhelm, this gathering explores what becomes possible when we lead with positivity and envision a shared future from an embodied and resourced state.
ABOUT US
Climate Camp is a collaboration between the Greenhouse Gas Removal Future Leaders Network (FLN) and Selgars Mill, a rural coliving and retreat center in Devon, where the first event will take place.
The FLN is a new and evolving network that brings together early career professionals working on GGR in the UK. It emerged as part of CO2RE and includes researchers, innovators, GGR solution developers, policy thinkers, consultants, corporates, trade associations, and many other emerging perspectives across the GGR landscape.
This gathering is funded by CO2RE, a coalition of research institutions led by the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford.
THE LOCATION
A defining part of Climate Camp is the beautiful rural setting of Selgars Mill, where the group will come together.
