This weekend retreat is created to help you reconnect with nature, with yourself, and with others.
The land here has been given space to rest, restore, renourish, and rewild. You are warmly invited to do the same.
Wild Weekends are uplifting retreats born from this land and the people who care for it. They offer time away from technology and the pressures of daily life, opening the door to a deeper kind of connection.
Expect beautiful wild surroundings, quietly luxurious accommodation, deeply nourishing vegetarian meals, and thoughtfully held experiences that encourage you to slow down and rediscover your place within the web of life.
Our vision is simple: to reconnect with nature, self, and others. These weekends bring that vision to life, and their impact will stay with you long after you leave.
"In truth, this land is more than a retreat, it is a sanctuary and a home for all of life" Seth Tabatznik, Founder, @42acresretreat
*Please note: this is a whole-site event, so some accommodation is a 20-minute walk from the dining room. If you need to be closer, please let us know in advance.
Marian is widely known for her thoughtful, regenerative approach to land design and to life. Her work spans flood plain restoration, historic estate masterplans, and soulful gardens, and she speaks about how we can live in harmony with everything beyond the everyday. From soil to gut to spirit, she brings together ecology, history, and future-focused care with deep respect.
A Fellow of the Landscape Institute, Marian creates projects with a long-term investment in the land. Kindness is central to her ethos, and she works with the ways land can heal and connect us on every level. Her 2019 TEDx talk explored how gardens can care for both people and the earth. Her book Sustainable Garden was shortlisted for Garden Book of the Year, and her next book, The Kindest Garden, is due out in February 2025. She has received many awards, though her greatest interest remains the lasting legacy of her work.
Marian holds a Masters in landscape architecture from Greenwich and studied Modern Languages at Oxford. She is also an agroecology coach and land energy healer. Before this, she worked in management consultancy. Her loves include sunrises, beavers, wild swimming, and remote ski touring.
Bríd Walsh grew up in rural West Cork, Ireland, surrounded by language, culture, and a deep relationship with land and environment. She learned to listen closely to the rhythms of the land from an early age.
Her work has focused on removing blockages to the flow of energy in land and property, as well as supporting individuals on their personal journeys. These connections have helped release trauma from landscapes, and this kind of supportive dialogue with nature also informs decision-making around the next steps for properties and land.
42 Acres is a regenerative estate, nature reserve, and wellbeing retreat centre with a vision to live in harmony with nature, self, and others. Drawing on deep intuition, ancient tools, and shared knowledge, the team creates regenerative spaces, curates transformational experiences, and offers opportunities to learn, heal, and grow.
Here, you are invited to explore 173 acres of wild spaces, including ancient woodland, rewilded meadows, an 11-acre lake, and pioneering nature restoration projects.
A thoughtfully converted former livery stable, this practical three-bedroom cottage sits on one level and is surrounded by nature on our regenerative estate. The bright main living area enjoys triple-aspect views and an easy open-plan layout, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table for six, and two sofas, one of which converts into a double sofa bed. Please note that there is no dishwasher or freezer. The main bathroom includes a shower over bath and toilet.
The first bedroom is a double room with a private shower room and is accessed only through French doors from the courtyard, offering a sense of privacy. The second bedroom can be arranged as a king or twin and has its own bathroom with a shower over bath. The third bedroom is also a king or twin, with a private bathroom featuring a shower over bath; this room can be reached from the courtyard and via pocket doors from the living space. Each bedroom opens onto an outdoor patio and lawns.
Set across 173 acres of wild landscapes, the cottage is surrounded by ancient woodland, rewilded meadows, edible hedges, a lake suitable for wild swimming, and abundant wildlife. Guests are welcome to explore the estate.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome at no extra cost. Please request the pet policy in advance so arrangements can be made. Two of the three bedrooms can be set up as kings or twins; as standard, they are prepared as kings, and twin configuration should be requested in the booking notes.
