Marian is widely recognized for her reflective, regenerative approach to land design and to life. Her work spans floodplain restoration, historic estate masterplans, and gardens with real soul, always guided by the question of how we can live in harmony with what lies beyond the everyday. She brings a deep respect for ecology, history, and the future into every project, from the soil to the gut to the spirit.
A Fellow of the Landscape Institute, Marian creates work with a long-term investment in the land. Kindness sits at the heart of her ethos, and she is interested in how landscapes can heal and connect us on every level. Her 2019 TEDx talk explored how gardens can care for both people and the earth. Her book Sustainable Garden was shortlisted for Garden Book of the Year, followed by The Kindest Garden, published in February 2025.
Marian has received many awards, though her focus remains on the lasting legacy of her work. She holds a Master’s in landscape architecture from Greenwich and a degree in Modern Languages from Oxford. She is also an agroecology coach and land energy healer. Before entering this field, she worked in management consultancy. Outside of work, she loves sunrises, beavers, wild swimming, and remote ski touring.
