Turn your passion for yoga into the confidence to teach.
This is the area’s most comprehensive and consistently offered teacher training program, designed to give you the knowledge and experience needed to guide yoga in both group classes and one-on-one settings. The focus is on serving the largest student population: beginners and those new to the practice. Many participants also join to deepen their understanding of yoga and Ayurveda, even if teaching is not their goal. The program has been educating teachers since 2004, and its length matters: over 9–10 months, you build the confidence to graduate prepared. Alumni have gone on to teach successfully, open studios, lead their own teacher trainings, travel and teach abroad, and work as full-time teachers.
Training includes anatomy and physiology, Eastern energetics, breathwork, meditation, and instruction in the primary yoga postures. You will also receive an introduction to Ayurveda, the traditional medical system of India, which supports balanced asana sequencing and lays the groundwork for advanced study. Through yoga philosophy and related traditions, you will learn to offer clear spiritual guidance in a way that aligns with your own beliefs. Business and marketing skills are included as well, helping you build a sustainable path as a teacher. Pre-arranged internships in established institutions, along with teaching and assisting in Shakti Yoga classes, provide practical experience and community service.
Open to anyone new to yoga who has a strong interest in yoga, philosophy, breathwork, and Ayurveda medicine.
