Settle into the serene mountain landscape of Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak in the Eastern U.S., for a 4-day, 3-night yoga retreat designed to support both renewal and deep connection. Hosted at the peaceful Mt. Mitchell Eco Lodge, this experience brings together yoga, hiking, nature, and intentional time with the five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space.
Feel the steadiness of the earth, the movement of water, the energy of fire, the clarity of mountain air, and the spirit that weaves everything together.
Each morning begins with an uplifting yoga and meditation session, followed by a nourishing breakfast prepared by a private chef. Afternoons invite you into the outdoors, with time to hike nearby trails or simply rest on the property in hammocks and on the front porch rockers. In the evening, a second yoga class helps you soften and unwind, with themes inspired by the elements all around you. The day closes with a wholesome meal, time by the fire, and stargazing beneath Mt. Mitchell’s dark skies, free from light pollution and ideal for viewing the night sky.
This retreat offers a chance to step away from everyday busyness and reconnect with yourself in one of the most beautiful natural settings in the region. Whether you are new to yoga or have years of experience, you can expect to leave feeling restored, balanced, and aligned with the rhythms of the earth.
All guest meals are prepared onsite by a private chef and included in the price. Dietary restrictions and food allergies can be accommodated.
Several trailheads are only a short distance from the retreat center. With two retreat leaders, guests can expect a range of group hikes at different difficulty levels each day. All activity levels will be supported. As the area continues to recover from Hurricane Helene, some trails may change, and local community guidance will continue to inform trail recommendations and safety.
Guests will enjoy two yoga classes each day, one in the morning and one in the later afternoon or evening. Morning sessions are more energizing, with basic and power flows, while evening classes are designed to help students slow down through restorative, yin, gentle, and slow flow practices. Classes are always optional and adapted to the group. All levels are welcome.
To create even more space for relaxation and restoration, guests may book wellness sessions in a dedicated bungalow next to the Main Lodge, known as the Healing House. The retreat coordinator will assist with arranging spa services for interested guests. Massages range from $100-$150 for 60-90 minute sessions and will be arranged closer to the retreat date.
Guests will spend 3 nights at Mt. Mitchell Eco Retreat in Burnsville, North Carolina.
