Metta, or Loving-Kindness Meditation, is offered here as a supportive companion to Vipassana, or Mindfulness Meditation. Rooted in the Buddha’s teachings as a response to fear, this formal practice invites us to reconnect with our innate wholeness, calm, and kindness, while also nurturing greater equanimity.
Each day includes guided instruction in Metta and walking meditation, mindful movement/Qi Gong, and a Dharma talk, along with group interviews and time for discussion with the teacher. This silent retreat is open to both beginning and experienced meditation students.
Partial attendance is not available. Please consider joining only if your current life circumstances allow you to take part in an important modern renunciation practice: remaining offline and refraining from phone and text use for the full duration of the retreat. Exceptions may be made in urgent family situations.
CURRENT PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS:
Cloud Mountain continues to follow public health and safety measures throughout the year. Requirements vary by season, and some level of masking remains part of retreat participation.
