EMBRACE YOURSELF

In 2024, Pure Pilates steps beyond the familiar studio setting and brings its philosophy into nature, even if only for a short time. This decision comes from a deep desire for greater contact with the natural world, a stronger connection with ourselves, and a more meaningful bond with you. Through this retreat, we invite you to integrate, empower, and embrace yourself within the support and warmth held by nature’s expansive embrace.

This journey began in mid-spring with the Embody Yourself Retreat in the mountains, where the focus was on awareness and connection through the body. It continued in early summer with the Empower Yourself Retreat by the sea, where the energy of the Sun and Fire helped participants recognize their inner strength. The final chapter takes place in mid-autumn with the Embrace Yourself Retreat, created with the intention of fully accepting our wholeness, nature, and all forms of existence with unlimited love.

Our destination is Pelion, the mountain of the Centaurs, near Agios Georgios Nilias. Set in a breathtaking location with rich greenery and an amphitheatrical layout overlooking the Pagasitic Gulf, Pelion Homes will welcome us. Its stone-built villas invite deep rest, while the rustic-minimal design inside and out enhances the feeling of calm. Combined with the views of the mountain and the sea, the setting becomes part of the experience itself.

The space for our classes is only a few minutes’ walk from the villas. It is a beautifully equipped Bedouin tent surrounded by trees, with a 360-degree panoramic view of the Pagasitic Gulf and the cherry orchards. Depending on the weather, the tent will be used either open or closed, but in both cases the sense of being held by nature is powerful and supports introspection and inner connection.

Meals will be a highlight as well: healthy vegetarian food prepared with care by talented chefs using fresh ingredients from the on-site farm and local producers. On those days, a large balcony with a stunning view will serve as our dining space.

THE FOOD

Vegetarian and vegan cuisine will be served, prepared from locally sourced ingredients gathered from the retreat’s own farm and the surrounding area of Pelion. The chefs create a distinctive mix of traditional vegetarian and vegan dishes with a delicious twist. Gluten-free options are also available to meet a range of dietary needs.

LUXURY VILLAS

Our accommodation is spread across several charming villas, each offering privacy and tranquility. Every villa includes its own pool, a fully equipped kitchen, and a comfortable living room, allowing you to unwind in style. Guests may choose between a fully private ensuite, a private room with a shared bathroom, or a double shared room.

THE LOCATION

The retreat takes place at Pelion Homes villas & Retreat Centre, an idyllic and undisturbed setting surrounded by deep green vegetation. The property offers 360-degree panoramic views of the sea and mountains, overlooking the Pagasitikos Gulf and the nearby village of Agios Georgios.

MEET THE FACILITATORS

Natasa Papamichali

Born in Koropi, Attica, in the late 1970s, I was drawn early on to the connection between body, mind, and spirit. After studying professional makeup and working in various fields, I returned to my passion for human well-being in 2005. I trained in the authentic Pilates method and, after receiving my diploma, co-founded Pure Pilates in Paiania in 2006, helping make specialized Pilates more accessible.

I continued expanding my knowledge through seminars with internationally recognized instructors and explored massage therapies, including Ayurvedic and Thai techniques. My holistic path also led me to energy therapies such as Reiki, Aura Healing, and Shamanic practices, which I began in 2017. In 2017, I also completed a 250-hour Yoga Teacher Training.

In 2024, my love of travel and nature inspired me to create retreats for Pure Pilates, with a focus on holistic well-being. My approach is rooted in honoring each person’s uniqueness and offering a safe space for growth and self-discovery.

Giota Maifosi

I was born and raised in Cyprus and moved to Athens in 1999 to pursue my dream of studying ballet and modern dance. In 2002, I graduated from the Rallou Manou Higher Professional School as a ballet and modern dance teacher.

After a third-year injury, I chose to train in Joseph Pilates’ method so I could support future dancers. I completed my training in 2003 at Studio Pilates with Evita Iliopoulou and attended seminars with BASI Master teachers such as Rael Isacowitz, Elizabeth Larkam, and Tracey Mallett.

In 2007, my friend Natasa Papamichali and I founded Pure Pilates in Paiania, where we continue to teach today. I also explore Usui Reiki, Aura Soma, and Shamanic Traditions.
