Breathwork is a simple yet powerful practice for healing, relaxation, discovery, and growth. Working consciously with the breath allows you to support your wellbeing physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually — simply by breathing. It can help you release thoughts, beliefs, behaviours, and conditioning that no longer serve you, and is especially supportive for shifting deep-rooted patterns that may feel difficult to change, even after years of other therapy or personal development work.
As the body is saturated with oxygen, breathwork may help clear stored emotional experiences, negative emotions, and trauma held in the body, creating more ease, less stress, and a greater sense of relaxation. It also helps move beyond the thinking mind and into a direct connection with the body. Most people leave breathwork sessions feeling clearer, calmer, more content, and more relaxed.

Although breathwork is generally a gentle and relaxing process, it can sometimes lead to intense physical and emotional release. It is not advised for people with a history of cardiovascular disease, including angina or heart attack, high blood pressure, glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, or significant recent physical injuries or surgery.
Breathwork is also not advised for people with severe mental illness, seizure disorders, or those using major medications. It is unsuitable for anyone with a personal or family history of aneurysms. Pregnant women in the first trimester are advised not to practice breathwork without first consulting and receiving approval from their primary care physician. People with asthma should bring their inhaler and consult both their primary care physician and the breathwork class facilitator.
