Set in the Spanish Pyrenees, this retreat invites you to pause at summer’s end and return to life with a fresh perspective. Inspired by Zen teachings and the spirit of “beginner’s mind,” it offers a space to meet each moment with openness, curiosity, and no judgment—whether you are coming back to work, studies, or simply seeking a meaningful reset.
"In the mind of the beginner there are many possibilities, but in the mind of the expert there are few." – Shunryu Suzuki
Over several days in the natural beauty of Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, you will be guided to reconnect with wonder, humbleness, and clarity. The retreat includes yoga, meditation, pranayama, mindfulness practices, art, and time in nature, along with the teaching of “Beginning Anew,” a mindfulness practice that supports honest, kind communication and the healing of relationships.
This retreat is open to everyone, regardless of age, physical condition, or level of practice. The practices are accessible and designed to meet participants where they are.
Casa Cuadrau is a Social Interest Cooperative committed to making its programmes accessible to as many people as possible. Rates are based on trust, solidarity, and reciprocity, and participants are invited to choose the highest rate they can afford.

Daily yoga asana classes are suitable for all levels and combine Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa, and movement. Each session is progressive, with variations offered to support different abilities and individual limitations. On the day of the long hike in Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, the day ends back at the house with a gentle Yin Yoga session and guided deep relaxation.
Meditative walks and longer hikes are an essential part of the retreat. These accessible outings help deepen our connection with nature through direct experience, while silence and deep listening enrich the journey. There will be two 2–3 hour meditative walks, plus one half-day hike after breakfast with a return for gentle yoga. Activities also include forest bathing and creative exploration.
Morning meditation is offered daily, using simple techniques that can be continued at home. Satsang brings the group together to share mindfulness practices, questions, concerns, insights, meditation, contemplation of nature, and meditative songs or mantras.
From the end of satsang or free time until after lunch the next day, the retreat preserves joyful silence. Meals are taken mindfully and in silence, supporting rest, clarity, and attentive listening. Internet service is not provided, and guests are asked to switch off mobile phones and other devices on arrival for a full digital detox.
This quiet moment invites connection with nature, the self, and the group. Tea is honored as a medicinal plant and as part of an ancient practice that reminds us of the living relationship between humankind and nature.
Throughout the week, planned activities will awaken creativity through nature-based inspiration and self-connection. Dance, painting, and writing are among the possibilities, offering space to feel, explore, and rediscover creative power without judgment.
The retreat begins on Tuesday with check-in, yoga and orientation, dinner, and opening. Wednesday and Friday include meditation, a meditative hike, yoga or creative activity, karma yoga, satsang, and rest. Thursday and Saturday feature a meditative trekking day with picnic in nature, followed by yoga and relaxation. On Sunday, the retreat closes with a tea ceremony, closing circle, and brunch at 11:30 am, with departure usually between 12:30 and 13:00.
Karma Yoga is the practice of bringing full awareness to simple actions, without attachment to results. During the retreat, participants will spend about one hour each day caring for shared spaces such as the kitchen, common areas, and garden—an invitation to carry yoga beyond the mat in a simple and profound way.
Casa Cuadrau is an ecological and sustainable house that offers organic, locally sourced food and a mindful approach to living. The retreat supports harmony between body, mind, heart, and the world around us, while encouraging respectful contact with nature, the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, and the Sobrarbe-Pyrenees UNESCO Global Geopark. The programme is aligned with sustainable tourism and local conservation values.
