DAILY ITINERARY
DAY 1: ARRIVAL Arrive at Leon-Silao Del BajĂo International Airport (BJX) before 2:00 p.m. and enjoy the 1.5-hour transfer to San Miguel de Allende. After settling in, you’ll have time to explore central San Miguel and meet your roommate for the week. The evening begins with a home-cooked Welcome Dinner featuring healthful local specialties, followed by a grounding practice to help you ease into the retreat. Note: March 2027 dates will feature daily yoga with Lexi Stickel of Wild Bloom Yoga.
DAY 2: MARKET VISIT & COOKING CLASS Start with a gentle morning movement session and breakfast made with fresh local ingredients before heading into the colorful streets of San Miguel de Allende for a guided walking tour. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, the city is celebrated for its cobblestone lanes, colonial architecture, and thriving arts scene. You’ll visit a lively market to sample local snacks and discover the produce, herbs, and many varieties of chilies that define Mexican cuisine. Later, explore neighborhoods known for striking street art, hidden courtyards, artisan workshops, and landmarks such as the pink spires of Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, while learning about the city’s history and artistic spirit.
DAY 3: FREE DAY OR GUANAJUATO DAY TRIP After morning movement and breakfast, enjoy a day at leisure in San Miguel or join the optional Guanajuato day trip. About 1.5 hours away, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is known for its cobblestone streets, narrow alleyways, plazas, and colonial-era architecture. Visit the Diego Rivera museum, then spend the rest of the day exploring at your own pace. You may wish to stop at the local market, visit the Mummy Museum, or ride the funicular for panoramic views before returning to San Miguel in the afternoon. Dinner is on your own in town.
DAY 4: COMMUNITY PARTNER & TAMALE MAKING After morning movement and breakfast, VĂa Orgánica will take the group to their organic farm outside the city. A recorrido around the property offers insight into sustainable agriculture and its role in the local economy and environment before you get hands-on with masa and learn to make tamales. Return in the early afternoon for free time in town, whether that means exploring San Miguel’s streets and art scene or visiting the botanical gardens just 10-15 minutes from the posada.
DAY 5: CAVE SWIM & FAREWELL DINNER Spend the morning relaxing at the accommodations or choose the optional half-day thermal cave pools excursion. About 45 minutes away, these unique cave pools offer different water temperatures and a soothing place to unwind; transportation and entry are included. After returning around lunchtime, the afternoon is yours for shopping, museums, or browsing local boutiques. In the late afternoon, enjoy a movement session before gathering for a chef-prepared Farewell Dinner at the B&B.
DAY 6: DEPARTURE Depart for Leon (BJX) today at any time. Transfers will be arranged according to flight schedules.

Lexi Stickel - March 2027 Yoga Retreat
With more than 15 years of experience, Lexi teaches yoga with a focus on joy, connection, and mindful breath. She first turned to yoga during graduate school as a way to manage stress, and her teaching has grown into an inclusive, empowering, and accessible practice for all bodies and experience levels. Now based in the Columbia River Gorge and raised in Oregon, she draws inspiration from the natural world and brings presence and exploration into every class at Wild Bloom Yoga. Her training includes a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification from Jaya Yoga School, restorative yoga training, and experience as a Master Naturalist, Leave No Trace Educator, and Wilderness First Aid responder. Having spent time in San Miguel de Allende, Lexi is excited to lead her first retreat with Traverse Journeys in this beautiful region of Mexico.
