Join this 15-hour training and gain the tools to teach Hot Yoga with experienced Hot Asana Hot Yoga teacher Lisa Youngclaus, ERYT 500. Hot Yoga is a valuable addition to other yoga styles, offering a multi-level, alignment-based approach with longer holds and powerful standing postures. This method helps reduce stress on the shoulders, elbows, and wrist joints while building strength and flexibility throughout the body.
Throughout the training, you will explore dynamic transitions designed to replace the “flow” commonly used in vinyasa classes, along with the anatomy of the key muscle groups engaged in a standing practice. You will also learn how to create a class that is distinct from, yet complementary to, your Vinyasa Teacher Training.
The curriculum includes the main differences between Hot Yoga and Hot Vinyasa teaching, appropriate postures for a Hot Yoga class, two Hot Yoga practices, three sample scripts, the history of Hot Yoga from the Calcutta tradition, and Sanskrit terminology for traditional poses used in Hot Yoga classes.
This is an opportunity to expand your teaching style and deepen your knowledge. Learn how to lead classes for students who may want more time in each posture to develop physical and mental stamina, while avoiding the upper-body weight bearing often required in vinyasa flow.
Training hours may be applied toward a 300-hour certificate through Hot Asana Yoga University or used for continuing education requirements.
Tuition: $400
A deposit of $250 is required to reserve your spot, with the remaining balance due one week before the training begins.

“The past has no power over the present moment. Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge.” —Eckhart Tolle
For Lisa, the mat has become a sacred place to explore the body, quiet the mind, and connect with the soul. After years of loss, grief, and challenge, she found the healing power of moving on her mat and listening to her inner self.
She was among the first yogis in Southern Pines to walk up the stairs to the original Hot Yoga studio in 2007. After years of training and competing in running events and triathlons, her body was aging, breaking down, and asking for change. She was instantly captivated by a practice that let her move every limb, muscle, and joint and sweat to music in a non-competitive, safe way.
Lisa became a yoga teacher in 2013, completing her 200-hour certification followed by a 500-hour certification from Yax Yoga Concepts. She continues to study through Hot Asana University, including Yin Certification, Meditation Teacher Training, Lower Body Anatomy, Advanced Sequencing, LSD, and more. In 2020, she also joined the Hot Asana University Faculty as a Hot Holds Teacher Trainer.
Teaching at Hot Asana for the past nine years has given her the chance to build meaningful connections with students and share valuable knowledge and skills. She considers it an honor and privilege to guide others through the practice of yoga.
