Hot Asana Lead Teacher and Studio Ambassador, ERYT 500, Yin Certified, Hot Asana University Faculty.
I believe the past has no power over the present moment. Even when change first appears difficult, it often creates the space for something new to emerge. For me, the mat has become a sacred place to explore the body, quiet the mind, and connect more deeply with the soul.
Over the years, loss, grief, and many challenges have shaped my life, yet the healing power of moving on my mat and listening inward has remained a steady companion. I was one of the first yogis in Southern Pines to walk up the stairs to the original Hot Yoga Studio in 2007. After years of training and competing in running events and triathlons, my body was aging, breaking down, and asking for change. I was immediately drawn to a practice that let me move every limb, muscle, and joint while sweating to music in a non-competitive, safe way. I fell in love with hot yoga and never looked back.
I became a yoga teacher in 2013, completing my 200-hour certification, then a 500-hour certification through Yax Yoga Concepts. I continue to expand my studies through Hot Asana University, including Yin Certification, Meditation Teacher Training, Lower Body Anatomy, Advanced Sequencing, LSD, and more. In 2020, I joined the Hot Asana University Faculty as a Hot Holds Teacher Trainer.
Teaching at Hot Asana for the past nine years has given me the gift of meaningful student connections and the chance to share valuable tools and knowledge with others. It is truly my honor and privilege to serve as a teacher in the practice of yoga.
