This is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in Bhakti Yoga and open the door to meaningful personal transformation. At the heart of this practice is devotional singing, known as kirtan, an ancient yogic tradition rooted in devotion to life and to our divine potential. Through kirtan, we surrender into music and catch a glimpse of a higher state of awareness. Bhakti Yoga offers one of the most direct ways to experience the unity of mind, body, and spirit. The mantras chanted in this practice are sacred calls for the divine to awaken within the heart, inspiring love and compassion for others.
Many people describe kirtan and mantra chanting as deeply joyful and blissful. This Bhakti Yoga practice is said to:
While kirtan is expressed through music, it is not about musical talent or formal training. It is an अभ्यास of the heart. The intention behind chanting is to move us out of the mind and into the heart. Everyone is welcome to participate, no matter their age, cultural background, or religious tradition.
This Bhakti Yoga retreat is a complete and immersive program designed to give you the tools to build a deep, lasting yoga and kirtan practice for life. By dedicating 10 nights to yoga, meditation, and kirtan, you create space for new possibilities to unfold and expand in your life. It is a powerful gift to offer yourself.
Alongside learning how to maintain a daily yoga practice, you will gain a thorough understanding of breathing exercises, pre-asanas, asanas, and flow sequences. You will also be guided into inner stillness and discover why yoga is not only about “doing,” but also about “being.”
Throughout the program, you will develop physical and mental strength, greater flexibility in both body and life, and more stability in your body and emotions. This is the gift of yoga: it supports every level of our being.
In addition to the regular daily retreat schedule, you will also take part in a daily 3-hour Bhakti Yoga and kirtan class. Here, you will learn to chant many mantras and receive harmonium, drum, and tinchu instruction, along with some playing practice as accompaniment to your chanting.
This retreat runs year-round, but advance booking is required. Guests should arrive at the center after 11 pm on the day before the program begins. The 10-night retreat starts the following day, with departure scheduled for the morning after the final day. Early reservation is recommended, as spaces are limited.
