Introduced to Zen at the San Francisco Zen Center at the age of 19, he has since devoted his life to practice and teaching. For more than 20 years, he trained closely with Sojun Mel Weitsman Roshi, the Abbot of Berkeley Zen Center, deepening his understanding of the Zen path through long-term study and discipline.
He was ordained as a Zen priest in 2002 and later received Dharma Transmission in April 2012 from Sojun Roshi in the lineage of Suzuki Roshi. His background reflects a deep commitment to authentic practice, making his presence especially meaningful for those seeking clarity, stillness, and a grounded introduction to Zen tradition.
