For more than 25 years, Yogini Ishani has devoted her life to the healing and spiritual traditions of yoga. Founder of Intuitive Flow Yoga Studio and Nalanda School, she has shared her work through teacher trainings and retreats designed to feel welcoming, grounded, and accessible. Formerly known as Yogini Linda Madani, she studied as an apprentice to the respected Balinese healer Tjokorda Rai, an experience that deeply shaped her understanding of yoga as a transformative path.
She is a certified yoga therapist in both India and the USA and holds an E-RYT 500 qualification. Her studies also include a two-year Vedic chanting program in Chennai, training in Vedic counselling with David Frawley, and ongoing study of Sanskrit and Advaita Vedanta. In addition, she has been initiated in Kālávāhana, a Sri Vidya-based practice passed down through a specific lineage. Her approach is rooted in real experience and a sincere commitment to helping students grow in meaningful ways.
Yogini Ishani sees yoga as a path of inner refinement. For her, the practice is not limited to physical postures, but includes self-awareness, patience, reflection, and gentle focus. It is a way of returning to wholeness by honoring both strengths and vulnerabilities. Yoga supports the physical, emotional, mental, and subtle aspects of being, which she views not as separate parts to be fixed, but as different expressions of one consciousness.
She describes yoga as a space where people can meet beyond differences. A businessperson and a student, for example, may share the same sense of calm and presence. While the divine may be named in many ways across cultures and traditions, the experience itself is simple and intimate: peace, unity, and connection. Yoga gently turns attention inward, helping us notice something as immediate as the breath or heartbeat.
In her view, the body is important in yoga, though it is not the final destination. The practice reveals the limits we create through roles, habits, and beliefs, and shows that these boundaries can soften as awareness deepens. With greater self-awareness comes more freedom, more space, and a more open way of living.
This is the path she continues to walk herself. Rather than offering a fixed method, she invites each person to explore yoga in their own way and discover what brings a sense of completeness during practice.
