YogaBijananda is an accomplished kirtanist who creates a gentle, welcoming space for students to discover their own voice and musical expression through mantra and Bhajan.
With nearly 40 years of experience in practicing and sharing yoga, meditation, and kirtan, she brings depth and warmth to her work. She has visited India many times, forming many meaningful connections with the people she met there and receiving, in return, a rich and authentic understanding. She lives in western Germany with her husband, Yoga Pushpam, and together they run a yoga center in the countryside. They enjoy growing their own food and herbs, and they nurture a place where visitors can experience the stillness and vitality of nature while connecting with their own creativity and inspiration.
Her kirtan path was first inspired by her teachers many years ago, and that inspiration continues to shine through her playing and teaching today. Kirtan has been deeply nourishing for her, and she has shared that nourishment with many students over the years. In her compassionate and humorous teaching space, students are supported as they learn to feel at ease and develop confidence with the harmonium and the drum, while also exploring the gift of their own voice.
'In Kirtan, the rhythm provides the boat, the melody the sails, and the lead singer guides the group to an island of peace. From there our eyes open to a new way of perceiving, our mind is uplifted, and our heart celebrates a new way of being. Having experienced the beauty of this island, it calls to us to return again and again' YogaBijananda
