Raised in a creative family where dancing, acting, singing, drawing, and embodied expression were part of everyday life, Wendy Praud developed an early appreciation for movement as a form of connection. Her teaching centers on an original sequence of mindful movements guided by the breath, inviting students to move with freedom, care, and curiosity.
She left home at a young age to explore remarkable places and eventually settled in Australia. In 2010, a yoga-meditation journey to India became a turning point. When she returned to Melbourne, she felt a strong calling to serve others and immediately enrolled in the 350hr Yoga Teacher Training at the Australian Yoga Academy. Since 2011, she has taught with wholehearted dedication, and she values nothing more than creating a safe space for her students.
Wendy has had the privilege of teaching yoga, meditation, mindfulness, art, and languages across Australia, the USA, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, and she looks forward to meeting more bodies, minds, hearts, and cultures around the world. Each summer, she leads retreats, workshops, courses, and classes in Europe. She also offers private sessions at her home, alongside public classes. Her private WendyWellness program includes yin, pilates, meditation, a tea and chocolate ceremony, and an infrared sauna.
With more than 1,000 hours of teacher training certificates, she remains committed to lifelong learning. In 2020, she became a Yoga Teacher Trainer/Lecturer at the Australian Yoga Academy, where she teaches a range of engaging subjects. Wendy also manages the AYA studio and KĀYA Health Clubs. She will always be a devoted student.
Her teaching style is rooted mainly in yin, while also drawing on vinyasa, hatha, pilates (mat and reformer), yoga nidra, meditation, and mindfulness. Her classes can be dynamic, energizing, powerful, and playful in yang, and caring, liberating, wise, and restful in yin. She especially enjoys offering hands-on adjustments.
