About Victoria Cary
Victoria Cary has been devoted to Insight Meditation and the study of the Dharma since 2006. In 2017, she completed Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leader program and became a fully empowered Dharma Teacher. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, she co-founded the San Francisco People of Color Insight Sangha in 2016 and remains one of its core teachers.
After leaving a 20-year career in 2017 to deepen her commitment to the Dharma, Victoria has continued to immerse herself in intensive silent practice. Her retreats have included a three-month stay at IMS, six-week and three-month retreats at Panditarama Monastery in Lumbini, Nepal, the birthplace of the Buddha, as well as a month-long retreat at Spirit Rock.
Victoria is especially interested in bringing mindfulness into daily life in practical and meaningful ways. She also identifies as a bi-racial Black woman, queer, cis-gender, a nature lover, and vegetarian.
