From early childhood on, I have felt drawn to the fascinating worlds of other cultures. Travel, foreign languages, exotic landscapes, the fine arts, and life in its purest form have always been at the center of my attention. I love allowing myself to be inspired by new perspectives.
Since 2002, I have accompanied NEUE WEGE Reisen as a dependable travel leader, guiding guests on journeys of discovery that go far beyond yoga practice alone.
I come from the sunny south of Germany, more precisely from Waldkirch near Freiburg im Breisgau, where I lead the highly regarded Institute for Yoga and Applied Philosophy. I first encountered yoga more than 30 years ago in India. That moment shaped a path in life that I continue to follow with lasting enthusiasm and now gladly share with others. In Freiburg and Heidelberg, I completed my master’s degree in philosophy, Indology, and Slavic studies. I also trained as a yoga teacher with the Society for Humanistic Continuing Education, following the standards of BDY/EYU and GGF.
I deepened my knowledge with renowned masters such as Jean Klein, Leopoldo Chariarse, Dr. Armin Gottmann, Daniel Orlansky, Dr. Gharote, and Swami Ramagyadas. My international seminar and lecture work is further shaped by advanced training in meditation, yoga therapy, Tri-Yoga Flow, Spiraldynamics, and ayurveda.
At the IYP in Waldkirch, I lead the yoga teacher training program according to BDY/EYU and IYP. As a lecturer on Sanskrit, Eastern philosophy, yoga, and ayurveda, I also collaborate with various other educational institutions and yoga schools.
My teaching style is subtle, meditative, and powerful. The practices are rooted in the classical Hatha yoga tradition. During the NEUE WEGE yoga retreats, they are structured in a way that helps you gain the confidence to use them in daily life as a source of calm and strength. In my tradition, yoga is always an invitation to mindfulness and to an integrated, compassionate relationship with oneself. Advanced age or physical limitations are never an obstacle to participating with joy.
Drawing on traditional yoga texts, I make the wisdom of yoga philosophy tangible and easy to understand. In a time when yoga is often popularized, diluted, and reduced to the physical level, it is important to me to also introduce you to its spiritual depth. This creates a foundation that allows you to integrate traditional yoga methods meaningfully, appropriately for our time, and in a way that suits your individual life — while meeting the challenges of our era with greater tolerance, human warmth, vision, and creativity.
