About Tami Montoya

Also known as “Ranger Tami,” Tami Montoya brings more than 20 years of teaching experience from local public school districts, along with over five years working as an Environmental Educator with NWDC. As the director and co-founder of NWDC’s Earthkeeper Nature School, she is deeply committed to helping children build meaningful connections with the natural world through hands-on learning and outdoor exploration.

Tami is a member of the Forest Kindergarten Association and has trained with naturalists, environmental educators, and the Healthy Women Healthy Earth environmental leadership organization. Her academic background includes an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, and she is a state-licensed Educator and Early Childhood Director.

Passionate about child development and nature-based learning, Tami has long championed outdoor, play-based education as a powerful way for children to grow, discover, and thrive.
