
Kametsa indigenous leader and two-time governor of the Cabildo Kamentsa of Sibundoy, Putumayo, Taita Juan Bautista Agreda Chindoy has devoted his life to the well-being of the Kamentsa people and to the protection of their language, culture, and natural environment. Raised within a respected family of traditional Yageceros, he is the son of Taita Martín Agreda, a man of knowledge from the Kamentsa tribe. From an early age, he began walking this path, learning the traditional medicine passed down by his father and deepening his connection to ancestral wisdom.
Rooted in the Kamëntšá community of Sibundoy, Colombia, his work reflects a lifelong commitment to preserving cultural heritage while supporting the collective strength of his people. His presence brings the perspective of a community leader, guardian of tradition, and carrier of living indigenous knowledge.
